Got my nails done and I go to pay and the lady asks me cash or card. I tell her card and then she tells me to hold on and she looks something up and says for my total they charge $10 additional to use card, which is crazy cause it’s illegal in NYC to charge to use credit cards. I’m not paying $10 to simply pay them for a service so I walk next door to the atm and hand her the payment in cash. She asks me for tip and I say no thank you, ya know cause she just tried to rip me off for $10.
Tell me why she starts yelling at me like at the top of her lungs that I need to give her a tip 😭. I walked out the store but I’ve never been so happy that I didn’t tip someone in my life. The entitlement is crazy, tip culture is definitely out of control.

@lizzkelly7 @Demo4fhs That burner phone part would have me checking every security camera in a five mile radius immediately 😳

Every Saturday night, my husband and I hired Sarah, a sweet college student from down the street, to watch our toddler, Leo. She was a dream. Every time we got home, she would leave a detailed, handwritten note on the kitchen counter:
“Leo ate all his peas. We read three books. He went down at 8:30 PM without a fuss. - Sarah xoxo.”
One Sunday morning, I was cleaning out Leo's diaper bag and found a stray note from Sarah from three weeks ago. I smiled, glancing at it.
Then I noticed the handwriting.
I ran to the kitchen and grabbed last night's note. The elegant, looped cursive on last night's paper didn't match the jagged, left-handed slant on the older note.
I dug through the drawer and found five more notes.
There were four completely different styles of handwriting. All of them signed “Sarah xoxo.”
I pulled out my phone and called the number we always texted to book her.
A gruff, older man answered.
“Hello?”
“I’m sorry,” I stammered. “I’m looking for Sarah?”
“There’s no Sarah here,” the man said roughly. “Look, lady, you’ve been texting this burner phone for months. I told my associate to just keep writing the notes so you’d stop asking questions.”
