@mcsquared34 It was FDR, c1938, who signed the Fair labor standards act into law, and creating the min wage in the US. (also used to ban oppressive child labor.) FDR had to fight the supreme court in order to get such measures passed. the crotchety old fuckers kept shutting them down

If poverty was ever abolished, housing was affordable, education was free and everyone had good prospects for a decent job, violent crime would be virtually eliminated, and military recruitment would be impossible.
