Their strategy here is to decrease the burden of social programs by prosecuting poor people and making people too scared to apply for benefits anyway. If this were really about catching fraud, we would be hearing about massive arrests at defense contractor companies and politicians and CEOs would be on the chopping block. They can say what they want about the ballot initiative, but they explicitly chose to issue this ruling after the election happened. They had all the time in the world to issue an opinion or an injunction before allowing this election to happen. They did not overturn a map—they overturned an election. It is the power of the American people that should be the ultimate check on all three branches. The court’s ability to overturn an election that was clear in its result should be something that is called into question.

Jefferson was not advocating for the big government full of regulatory agencies and enforcement agencies and robbing 1 trillion dollars of peoples wealth for military defense contractors and seeking out American interests over seas. Jefferson believed that government was a necessary evil if it was functioning exactly as intended and believed it was only good for a few specific interests of the people such as being a peaceful option for settling disputes but that it should be highly constrained so that its only function was to serve the people not to oppress or control them. In his style the government would act more as a mediator than an authority. Go be scared in another country. Let us be free here

A lot of profit for the wealthy large shareholders of that company and the executives of that company and other wealthy elites they will hook up with deals. Companies don’t go around looking to create jobs. Jobs are labeled in corporate accounting books as “labor” costs. The entire point of a corporation is to keep costs low and profits high so that shareholders of the company profit as much as possible. Any job creation will be an unintended by product of that goal. They will do everything in their power to not have to create those jobs first. The right wing has some romantic notion that corporations and the wealthy elite are just good guys trying to help you get where they are. Yall are all morons. None of this benefits you. The entire system they have built for them to win requires them to do everything they can to make sure that you don’t win.
