@AaronBastani It's so frustrating as a French, we've managed to stay independent from the US for decades, in 5 years of presidency (2008-12), Sarkozy sold us in so many ways (even a huge gold reserve). One bad election is enough to ruin a country. And after him, it went from worse to worse.

The most bitter paradox of our time: Tehran is currently experiencing military strikes, yet the air is the cleanest it has been in YEARS. We actually have rainbows, snow, and blue skies! Why? Because the Islamic Republic's massive, grid-draining crypto farms are offline, meaning their power plants aren't burning toxic Mazut (heavy fuel oil) over our heads anymore. The daily traffic of their corrupt, substandard economy has halted. The Islamic Republic itself was a weapon of mass destruction. Their “peace” was suffocating us. The end of this regime is literally letting Iran breathe again!

@RothLindberg The "whole world" of countries not colonized by the US-Israel did condemn it. There's a real effort behind the scenes to stop US-Israel bullying and war crimes, but they're facing a powerful network with huge control over many countries, banks, companies, etc.

There was evidence that there were command and control centres under these buildings. The Iranian army undertook a precision strike, against the Israeli regime’s military infrastructure. Unfortunately, the Israeli regime embeds its military infrastructure amongst the civilian population, and uses it as human shields. The Iranian army operates to the highest morals and standards of international law, and any loss of civilian life is regrettable, but 100% due to the Israeli regime.

Iran is not even indiscriminately firing at Israel. They are intentionally firing at entire civilian population areas, including residential homes, kindergartens and hospitals. Each of these missiles and cluster bombs is a WAR CRIME!

The funniest thing happening in the world right now is the way the western political/media class is asking us to be shocked and outraged that Iran would attack US allies who are actively collaborating toward its destruction in an unprovoked war of aggression. It's hilarious. Think about how dehumanized the Muslim world would have to be in your perception in order for that kind of thinking to make sense. You'd have to see them as so unlike yourself that it would astonish and baffle you for them to be retaliating against unprovoked aggressions like any normal human being. Your view would essentially have to be, "Why are those Iranians hitting us back? Don't they know their role is to be killed, and our role is to do the killing? They've got the natural order of things completely backward!" Iran is fighting for its very existence as a state. Obviously it's going to respond aggressively toward everyone who's helping to destroy it. It's a symptom of a profoundly sick and twisted civilization that this would seem abnormal or surprising to anyone.

back in the late 1980s/early 90s, I remember reading a recollection by an aid to then President Jimmy Carter, and the story stayed with me. The President was lamenting Iran's attachment to the past, rhetorically asking why they can't just focus on the present and look to the future; why they kept bringing up things in the past. It probably had to do with the hostage situation and the aftermath of that. The aid was himself either of Persian ancestry or was otherwise well acquainted with Iranian society. In trying to explain the mindset of people in an 8000 year old civilization, he said: "Mr President, the old souq in Iran is 6000 years old, and what they call the NEW souq, is 2000 years old." something 2000 years old is "new" to people with the kind of ancestral memory of Iranians.
