Barack Obama met Vladimir Putin on September 5, 2016 in China, where he claims to have successfully threatened Putin to cease hacking activities. He says "we did not see further tampering of the election process". However, the Muller report implies that Podesta's emails were obtained by Wikileaks 2 weeks later Sept 20th, instigated by a message from a GRU-controlled Twitter account @dcleaks

Everything about the dollar Costco hotdog is great except for standing in line with people who also think so. That part hurts a lot.

With the White House Correspondents Association declaring Donald Trump an “honoree” at tonight’s dinner, I declined an organization’s invitation to attend. The sane washing of Trump and his war on the press is dangerous. And the WHCA is an absolute disgrace. #WHCD

I don’t know why people are complaining about Claude, but I guess I missed the window of complaining. I put it at the root of my project, directed it to make a landing page, and in ten minutes it blew me away. Disclaimer: I am a terrible FE developer. But a gangster on the BE.

I don't think its a matter of opensource, just an antiquated way of contributing. I'm not a cryptography guy but how do you commit while offline without authenticating? So it just records the username and whatever. Then if someone who's authenticated pushes/merges it, they assume you meant to.

The final straw for me was when a colleague managed to make a commit into a private repository from a separate account that didn’t have access to it… We still haven’t figured out how that happened, but there went any trust in GitHub’s security. They’re also enabling AI training on your “private” repositories by default now unless you update your settings or have an enterprise plan. It goes into effect today.
Tom Elliott@theotherelliott

This GitHub incident is insane. Merge queue commits have been reverting previously merged commits at random. This not only breaks the mental contract teams have with Git in general, but is subtle enough to be really hard to unravel after the fact. githubstatus.com/incidents/zsg1…

@marceelias They’ve already lost their audience. Mostly for covering the asses of people like yourself, Michael Sussman, Peter Frisch, Jake Sullivan, Christopher Steele, et al.

Does legacy media understand how much they damage their businesses by attend gatherings like the WHCA dinner? Do they think dining with Donald Trump, mingling with his cabinet, and joking around with his cronies does anything other than alienate their audience? I don't get it.

@billybinion What they're mocking is the NYTimes for making her seem sympathetic, when in fact her lifestyle is higher than the average lifestyle of the audience.

I didn’t like USAID. But watching people gleefully mock a woman for having to start over at ~60 is bleak. You can disagree with someone’s politics without losing basic empathy. The internet has broken a lot of brains.

@SmartMaticEng @9mmsmg Congress buying war stocks on conflicts where soldiers DO get hurt or killed is still far worse. Quite literally incentive to send more boys to the meat grinder. Not trying to “what aboutism” but 2 tier justice isn’t justice.

The man went on a raid, put his life in danger, was called a hero, and is now arrested. He didn't bet against himself and the country. He bet he'd win. Drop the charges, you assholes. Do you know how much insider trading goes on in the administration? It's common practice. He'd be fine if he was worth 100 million. It'd be fine if he were Lutnick. Release him and discipline him if you have to. Don't ruin the man's life.

To believe Chief Bovino's ridiculous claim that there were 15 million undocumented immigrants in 1975, you'd have to ALSO believe that 12+ million people deliberately chose not to get green cards and a path to citizenship during the Reagan amnesty in 1986.

Imagine you play poker with the same group of friends, and every time you plop down a three of a kind, you have one friend who goes to take a leak. He’s gone for a few minutes and then comes back to plop down a higher three of a kind, every time. Would you accept this outcome without questioning it? So it is with states that have one mega county that withholds its vote reporting until it is clear what margin is needed to win. Americans should expect to have elections in which transparency is afforded.

Democracy is when 51% vote to strip away political representation from the 49%, keeping the latter in a perpetual state of servitude to the former with no power to change it. Which is why the distinction between democracy and republic is not merely pedantic.
