I was going to invest in the S&P500 but then I started thinking… you can’t buy anything w/the S&P500 When’s the last time you paid for dinner with a share of the S&P500? You can’t live in the S&P500 1 share is $6,774 average person can’t afford that I’d rather keep cash 😉

@theficouple If you want cash flow, SPY + Covered Calls could be another S&P option that could yield more in some markets.

Lets do the math: $150k invested in VOO would give us ~$560/mo of cash flow. $150k invested into a good multi family rental gives us ~$1,875/mo of cash flow. We really like real estate 🏡

Here is why I would never go 100% into Bitcoin: First, I love Bitcoin. I own a lot of it. Second, if you are 100% Bitcoin I respect your conviction. This post is about me. Do I think Bitcoin will be successful? Yes. Does anyone know for sure? Absolutely not. Can the S&P 500 succeed without Bitcoin? Yes. Can Bitcoin succeed without the S&P 500? No because the world would be over. If Bitcoin succeeds I will be extremely well off because I own it and continue to buy it. If Bitcoin fails I will still be extremely well off because I invest in the S&P 500 continuously. It doesn’t need to be all or nothing. The risk reward isn’t there for me. Nobody truly knows anything 100% That is just my personal view.

@higgins31411 @themoviedadsc I’d probably argue you if you have at least 100 shares of QQQ you could offset the difference in expense ratios fairly quick maybe 1-2 trades with covered calls. But if you’re not interested in covered calls, even with the worst bid/ask spread QQQM may be better just holding.

Current stock market (Nasdaq 100 in correction) is another reason why I have zero desire to upgrade from our 3.25% mortgage. Our low living costs let us invest my wife’s entire salary into $QQQM while it drops + fully funding 3 kids’ 529s. That's how you retire in your 40s.

I don’t talk about my personal life much on here, but I wanted to share a BIG life update with you all! I got married back in August of 2024 and we decided to wait at least a year before having kids. Well, about a year and a half later, here we are with baby #1 on the way! We are very excited, but if I’m being completely honest, I’m also terrified. Being the one to go through the physical changes and the labor process has always seemed scary to me. And now that it’s a reality, I’m even more scared 😅 That being said - moms out there, I’d love some tips and tricks to help guide me through this pregnancy along the way 💕 We definitely have a lot to figure out when it comes to finances, so plans are going to have to change for a while. No more maxed out IRA, unfortunately 😅 I’ll keep grinding my best with what we have already accumulated in our brokerage accounts and IRAs, though! Finances aren’t everything, and this journey will be so worth the financial sacrifice 🥰
