طبعاً الدارج اليوم عند فئة واسعة من الشباب بسوريا، أنهم يتلقفون عدة أحكام مسبقة عن قضايا مهمة بالتاريخ السوري بشكل أعمى، ثم يعتبرونها مسلمات ويواصلون ترديدها. مثل الأوصاف التي تلحق بجماعة الأخوان المسلمين، وحزب البعث، مرحلة الوحدة مع مصر. ومرحلة العهد الوطني، شكري القوتلي، وغيرها من المواضيع. الموضوع طبعا لم يقرؤوا عنه، بل مجرد منشورات في فيسبوك وتويتر تشتم فلان وعلان، ثم يتبنون هذه الأفكار. حزب البعث بالمناسبة قبل أن يصبح بيد حافظ الأسد كان له منجزات ضخمة جدا بسوريا، أهمها إنهاء الاقطاع، وإيصال التعليم لكل ابناء الشعب السوري. بل كان الجسر الوحيد الذي أوصل أبناء الريف للعلم والمشاركة بالسلطة حتى، بعيدا عن سير الأمور بعدها. البعث قبل حافظ الأسد شئ، وبعده شئ أخر. أما قصص الديمقراطية والليبرالية والعهد الوردي والحكايا عن القوتلي والاتاسي والذي يظن كثر أنه كان عهد راىع للكل، فهو بالمناسبة كانت مكاسب محصورة في قصور وتجمعات تلك النخب الحاكمة. أعلم ان كلامي سيكون مزعجاً لكن على الأقل اقرؤوا عن ابن دمشق عدنان المالكي ومن له مصلحة باغتياله قبل أن تشتموه. السخرية والازدواجية عند كثير من الناس هنا، أنهم يشتمون الأخوان وعصام العطار، ويترحمون على مروان حديد. ولا أدري كيف ضبطت ! لولا حزب البعث لما فتحت مدرسة واحدة في الريف بالستينات. لنكن منصفين، نظام حافظ الأسد شئ، وما سبقه من تاريخ سوريا شئ أخر.

To protect worshippers, Israel asked members of all faiths to temporarily abstain from worshipping at the Christian, Muslim and Jewish holy sites in Jerusalem’s Old City. Today, out of special concern for his safety, Cardinal Pizzaballa was asked to refrain from holding mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Even though I understand this concern, as soon as I learned about the incident with Cardinal Pizzaballa, I instructed the authorities to enable the Patriarch to hold services as he wishes.
