@Jameswriter371 A friend gave me an e-reader several years ago. It took me a long time to get used to reading ebooks. It didn't happen until I decided to take it on a trip, instead of choosing just one or two paperbacks. I still love paper books, but ebooks are so easy to check out and read.

@lizaboth @WillNovak13 @1followernodad @MLB I generally don't like "females" as a noun, but English doesn't have a good group noun for a mix of girls and women. For this use, it's a reasonable solution. I'm an adult and don't want to be called a girl and my young niece isn't yet a woman or lady. 🤷‍♀️

Sci-fi writer Andy Weir says he was much more involved with Project Hail Mary than The Martian: "It’s been a huge difference. On The Martian I was on the sidelines. They chose to involve me, which was nice, but for the most part I was just an excited observer. On PHM I’m a full producer, so I was involved in tangible decision-making. It was an awesome experience to be involved in the day-to-day work on the set." Is having the book writer more actively involved why this film is such a success?

Any student of history will tell you this is an extremely dangerous moment. People like Trump who make wild threats to do insane homicidal things again and again are full of shit—until they aren’t. All the safeguards are gone. The generals have been removed. Our allies have been alienated. Congressional Republicans will follow Trump to the apocalypse. We really are on the razor’s edge of total disaster here and millions if not billions of lives hang in the balance.

Think about what Washington Republicans are actually asking you to believe: that there are noncitizens so committed to voting illegally that they’d risk deportation, prosecution, and everything we’ve seen ICE do, just to cast a ballot in our elections.      There is no documented crisis of noncitizens voting. It is already a federal crime, and it always has been.       Republicans invented a crisis that doesn’t exist so they could sell a “solution” that makes it harder for YOU to vote.      Call it what it is: the SAVE REPUBLICANS Act.
