$200 billion. No briefing, strategy, or end game. No respect for Congress. I sit on the Appropriations Committee. I have received zero justification. Hegseth’s entire case to the American people is “it takes money to kill bad guys.” That’s an insult. To Congress and the Constitution. And most of all, to the men and women putting their lives on the line right now. Our service members are the best this country has. They are brave, skilled, and they deserve leadership worthy of their sacrifice. They deserve a clear mission. A defined objective. A strategy that someone in this administration has actually thought through. They are not props for a policy that nobody can consistently explain. Yes, a nuclear-armed Iran is a threat. I believe that. But how we confront that threat matters. The path we take matters. The cost in lives and dollars matters. And who gets to weigh in on all of that matters. That’s not weakness. That’s the Constitution. First the reports were $50 billion. Then $100 billion. Now $200 billion. With no breakdown, no timeline, no accountability. Where the hell are my Republican House colleagues? Collins and Murkowski are asking questions in the Senate. The House is silent. That silence is a dereliction of duty. We are a co-equal branch of government. The power of the purse is ours. This is not a technicality. It is the last line of defense against exactly this kind of reckless blank-check governance. Our troops deserve better. The American people deserve better. nytimes.com/2026/03/19/wor…

Trump promised to cut your electricity bill in half on Day One. Since then, electricity prices have risen more than twice as fast as inflation. He has no plan to fix it. I do. My Energy Bills Relief Act with @RepCasten would do exactly what it says: bring you relief by deploying cheaper energy, protecting consumers, and making sure Big Tech pays for its own power bill instead of passing those bills on to you.

This is disgusting. A journalist reported a missile strike. Polymarket bettors threatened to kill him and his family unless he changed his story so they could cash out. This is what happens when you let people bet on war. Human life becomes a transaction. I introduced the DEATH BETS Act because some markets should never exist. This one never should have. washingtonpost.com/technology/202…

Let me get this straight. Trump lost in court FIVE times trying to kill offshore wind projects that would have powered over a million homes. Now he wants to spend nearly $1 BILLION of your taxpayer dollars to pay the developers to walk away and require them to invest in fossil fuels in Texas instead. He couldn’t win in court. So he’s buying his way around it. With YOUR money. nytimes.com/2026/03/17/cli…

If we’re serious about lowering costs for working families and ensuring America is at the forefront, the path forward is obvious. Electricity bills are skyrocketing. We know that clean energy lowers costs. The answer is staring us in the face, and Trump is doing absolutely everything to get in the way.

This is unhinged. The President of the United States went on a late-night rant, making clear he believes the Supreme Court justices he appointed owe him their loyalty and should always rule in his favor. The President of the United States is openly attacking the independence of the judiciary, the very institution that stands between every American and unchecked executive power. Courts don’t work for the President. They work for the Constitution. And a president attacking the judiciary for doing its job is telling you he believes he is above the law.

How out of touch is the Trump Administration? Trump’s top economic advisor just said that hurting consumers is “the last of our concerns.” Last I checked, consumers ARE the economy, and they should be the number one priority for everyone in Washington.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Hassett: "If the war were to be extended, it wouldn't really disrupt the US economy very much at all. It would hurt consumers, and we'd have to think about what we'd have to do about that, but that's really the last of our concerns right now."

The allegations against Cesar Chavez are devastating and demand to be taken seriously.   No accomplishment, no matter how historic, excuses the rape and sexual abuse of children and women.   I stand with the survivors. The farmworker movement was never one man's. It was forged by farmworkers, their families, and generations of people who fought for dignity in the fields. That cannot be taken from them. The streets, buildings, and institutions that bear his name should bear theirs instead: United Farm Workers.

House of Reps. SEEC
We have the tools to power America with abundant, reliable, American-made clean energy. The missing link is a consumer-first energy policy. That's why SEEC's Clean Energy Deployment Task Force Co-Chairs @RepCasten & @RepMikeLevin introduced the Energy Bills Relief Act today.

Your energy bills are too high. Trump promised to cut them in half. Under his watch, they rose as high as 13% last year. Today, I introduced the Energy Bills Relief Act with @RepCasten to actually deliver on that promise. This isn’t ideology. It’s math. Restrict the cheapest sources of new electricity while demand rises, and prices go up. Deploy clean energy, modernize the grid, and integrate storage, and rising demand can be met with falling costs. The path to lower bills runs directly through the clean energy deployment that markets are already telling us is the cheapest way forward. That’s what this bill is designed to deliver.
