Do Americans deserve to suffer for the crimes of our government?

@jessiegender It's a legitimately scary situation, but we need to have the courage to stand firm in our convictions and the solidarity to look after each other no matter what hardships come our way. We can make a difference, but only if we work together to stop the continuous rightward shift.

@jessiegender Our country is the perpetrator of so much harm in the world, it's our responsibility to take on the risks to stop it. One way is to throw a wrench in the political duopoly. That comes with a lot of danger, but no act of resistance against an empire is going to be safe or easy.

Like seriously, there is a trans genocide going on too. To tell trans people to not think about their health care at this time because they’re “supporting genocide” when our vote in actuality doesn’t materially affect Gaza either way is just… frustrating to put it mildly.

I wish I could just make silly games and write silly books. The creative part of my brain is smothered under the day to day horrors of the past year. I am not okay.

@StarfleetHist By that time, most people would rather turn to each other for help than suffer alone. People don't need to be perfect, because they live in an environment that actually cares and helps. Coping addictions would still happen, but far more rare compared to our reality

This is something we all should be able to get behind, right? Biden is calling Supreme Court reforms: - 18 year term limits on Supreme Court justices. A system where a president would appoint a justice every two years. - A binding ethics code to require justices to disclose gifts, refrain from public political activity, and recuse themselves from cases in which they or their spouses have financial or other conflicts of interest. - A constitutional amendment declaring that presidents do not have immunity from criminal prosecution for any crimes committed while in office.

This is a big goof for SNW. Vulcans are taught logic and emotional suppression their whole life. The crew becoming Vulcan without that training? They would be a hot mess.
