@defense_diaries I wonder if he would testify differently in front of a jury bc his demeanor & tone on the stand has been quite off putting for me. I am not familiar with all the pre trial on this so watching & reading things as they come in.

What’s even crazier is the amount of audacity in the water in UT that TFP went on the national TV & potentially violated the terms of her probation that could lead to the conviction going from a misdemeanor-felony by drinking/being around alcohol consumption. 🤦🏼‍♀️

@cathyrusson I bet they thought the juror asking for the stipulation was indicative that the jury wasn’t convinced of guilt & were feeling confident putting this out. It will be interesting to see if they still feel this way about the jurors now if (cough cough) a guilty verdict is read.

STATEMENT FROM DEFENSE in UT v Kouri Richins: Statement from Wendy Lewis, Kathy Nester, and Alex Ramos, attorneys for Kouri Richins: After three weeks of testimony and closing arguments, this case is finally where it belongs: in the hands of the jury. We are grateful to the jurors for the seriousness and care they have shown throughout this trial. They have listened closely to every witness and every piece of evidence, and we respect the responsibility they now carry. For nearly three years, the public has heard accusations about Kouri. Those accusations created a narrative that spread far beyond this courtroom. But in court, accusations are not enough. The law requires proof. After three weeks of testimony, the prosecution has failed to prove its case. The standard in this country is proof beyond a reasonable doubt. That burden has not been met. Kouri has maintained her innocence from the very beginning. Over the past several weeks, the jury has had the opportunity to hear the full evidence — not the headlines, not the speculation, but the facts. We believe in the jury system, and we trust the process. Kouri should finally be able to go home to her three young boys and begin rebuilding her life.

@LawyerYouKnow It’s guilty for sure.. 6 men/2 women. I wonder if defense is regretting putting out that statement after closings. But I can smell the motion for mistrial due to juror not following instructions or something w/a sub 3hr verdict

Wow Richins verdict??? I think we know this is guilty - not surprising at all - but DEF quicker than I expected. That’s pretty shocking to me. What do you think?
