@aurayru @linkscarff I'm still upset that tunic with the blue scarf wasn't even an Amiibo unlock in BotW/TotK. The Champions all wear blue cloth, it would have made so much sense!

@jwegener All I want. I was ok with Cortana because that's the name of an AI. I can't remember the names of actual people, why would I want to personify my living room lights?

Finding it impossible to remember all the different apps names I use: I need to unlock my front door, I can’t type front door instead I have to remember “August” I need to open my garage. I can’t just type garage, instead I have to remember “myQ” I need to check the baby camera I have to remember “Nanit” I want to check the baby’s recent feeding I have to remember “Nara” I want to change the house temperature I have to remember “ecobee” etc etc etc ad nauseum. My brain is out of space. Anyone else?

@Iamivy05 I struggle to lie and it causes problems. I treat the word 'friend' very seriously. I am very loyal to my friends and my friends are loyal to me. Most of my friends have been so 15-25 years. Then I meet someone new and they're like "We're friends now, right?" and I can't say it.

Its quality. I think we are all saying the same thing but past one another ... we all agree on one thing. If it feels like quality is intact, that craftsmanship is there. Let it play. If I feel like you just drop-kicked quality and cookie cut something for me. Meh. We just can't quantify quality clearly..so both sides argue over and over with no resolution. Then each side gets embedded in their position and refuse to compromise.

Zero Fks given if the used Ai to make the entire game. Eventually the Game Karens will realise the outrage doesn’t have the momentum they think it has
Crimson Desert@CrimsonDesert_

We would like to address questions regarding the use of AI in Crimson Desert. During development, some 2D visual props were created as part of early-stage iteration using experimental AI generative tools. These assets helped us rapidly explore tone and atmosphere in the earlier phases of production. However, our intention has always been for any such assets to be replaced, following final work and review by our art and development teams, with work that aligned with our quality standards and creative direction. Following reports from our community, we have identified that some of these assets were unintentionally included in the final release. This is not in line with our internal standards, and we take full responsibility for it. We also acknowledge that we should have clearly disclosed our use of AI. While these tools were primarily used during early production, with the expectation that these assets would be replaced prior to release, we recognize that this does not excuse the lack of transparency. We sincerely apologize for these oversights. We are currently conducting a comprehensive audit of all in-game assets and are taking steps to replace any affected content. Updated assets will be rolled out in upcoming patches. In parallel, we are reviewing and strengthening our internal processes to ensure greater transparency and consistency in how we communicate with players moving forward.

There was one year at Microsoft, somewhere between 2-4 that I just have no real memory of. Like I remember being present but like almost 3rd person. Also had trouble like reading. My friend thought I was going blind but I told him I could see I just couldn't do anything with it.
Sophia ❣️@KeruboSk

My therapist told me something that really stuck: People dealing with anxiety and depression don’t always remember much, not because nothing mattered, but because they were too focused on just making it through each moment. When you’re in survival mode, you’re not fully present… and when you’re not fully present, the memories don’t form the way they should. And honestly, I felt that.

I love the environmental improvements on 3DS, like the background in the Lost Woods having more trees or the shells in Zora Hall being modeled. That's great! I'm less thrilled my character models and movement/animation changes. If I could get 3D world but like 2x or 3x poly-count Link in 64 style I think that would make me happiest. FF7 Remake has kinda made me realize that I'm more interested in an "upscaled" version of the original than a full blown remake.

@Stealth40k This game has influenced nearly every 3D action game out there. And recent games have been heavily influenced by *Breath of the Wild*. When I play games from other companies, I often find myself thinking, “I’ve seen this in *Zelda*.”

People with ADHD have what’s called Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). It’s an extreme emotional response to perceived criticism or rejection. Your brain can’t regulate the emotional pain, so a small comment feels like a devastating attack. A minor correction feels like total failure. Someone’s tone feels like hatred. It’s not oversensitivity. It’s not being dramatic. Your brain literally can’t modulate the intensity of that emotional response. It’s neurological, not a character flaw

I didn't really have playdates as a small child and no friends whose houses I went to until high school. My parents weren't really friends with any of my friends' parents and I have young parents a generation younger than most of my friends. What's really weird is that one of my grandmothers had a kid who was older than my other grandmother. I really would have liked to have seen them interact. I imagine it was awkwardly hilarious. Anyway, some of my friends' parents became my friends after they moved away for college. And once I went into the software field I acquired friends of my own at work who were 20-40 years older than me (and neighbors). And a growing number who are younger. It's just about treating people as human beings. We won't always agree or share perspectives and that can be a good thing. But we can respect each other and be cordial and kind if possible. Friends can (and should) remain aware of their differences.

FORTRAN, ancient giant among scientific languages, has arrays starting at 1 by default—unless explicitly told otherwise. Want to start indexing from -42? Totally allowed. Mixing arrays with arbitrary indexing schemes led to some impressively baffling code, explaining why FORTRAN still frightens new devs.

@AdeleScalia Hunger. No but fr even as a teen it's very uncomfortable not knowing where your mom is or what she's doing. She's the origin point for your whole sense of place and self and time. When Mom unexpectedly stayed out late (before cell phones) I'd turn into a worried parent.

As I stepped out of my uber last night a window from my sons’ room opened and my high schooler yelled outside “Mom! You’re back!”, then turned around and yelled “Mom’s home!” to his younger siblings amid shouts of “MOOOOOM!!!” and general merry making. What is this life? 😭😭❤️

@aakashgupta Yeah I remember folks talking up increasingly realistic first person shooters back in the 2000s and realizing that the logical conclusion of that would be awful. A game where one shot is often deadly or disabling? Experience the rush of bleeding out? No thanks, I'll go be a Jedi.

Game designers figured this out decades ago and it cost millions in failed launches. Will Wright built SimCity with a fully accurate traffic simulation. Testers hated it. The cars behaved realistically, which meant nobody could build a functioning city because real traffic is an unsolvable nightmare. He had to make the simulation dumber before the game became fun. The tension is permanent: the more accurately you model a system, the more it punishes the participant. Real medieval economies kept 90% of the population in subsistence farming. A historically accurate fantasy world doesn't produce heroes. It produces serfs. Tolkien solved this by making his economy deliberately vague. No one knows what a gold coin buys in Gondor. That ambiguity is a design choice, not a shortcut. The Reddit post is funny. The lesson underneath it is one of the hardest problems in simulation design: fidelity and fun are opposing forces, and you have to pick which one wins.

They can still interact, I just want the context of how much they saw. Like how the news always needs to tell you a person's age to contextualize the rest of the story. "NotATroll2026, 45s wrote: You're wrong and everyone watching this is stupid." Sure, kid. But you're right in that none of these platforms are incentivized to make society less stressful 😢

@ThatVBGuy it wont happen as both YT and the Author are both incentivised on interaction. all they need is 1 mouse click and its $$$ in the bank for both. YT gets to brag to ad companies they have "interaction" and content author gets rewarded for both bad and good.

Crimson Desert is probably the best use case for why steam needs to start breaking reviews up into 4-parts. First Impressions ( ~10hrs) Early Game (Above 10hrs) Mid Game (Above 40hrs) End Game ( Above 100hrs) You can use hours or devs can trigger this via steam achievements for endgame category separation. Point is 2hrs negative reviews on this game is such a dead-head review.
