Eid is over. The food is packed away and the children have gone back to Lagos, Abuja, London, Houston. The house that was full three days ago is quiet again. And I keep thinking, this is exactly what @EdenbrookeHomes is fighting against. Not just the loneliness. The contrast. The way our elders go from being the centre of everything to having nothing to look forward to, until the next holiday. They deserve more than that. More than once a year. That’s why I’m building this.

Arsenal fans will be confused tonight. They will cry out to the high heavens and seek answers but none will come. They will ask “how?” in over 2000 languages but in one unanimous agony. The pain will reverberate throughout the 7 continents. Tonight’s loss will foreshadow their imminent exit from the Champions League and an ultimate exit from the FA Cup. The quadruple dream will begin its short journey towards fading away tonight. Then the treble dream will follow. Then the double. Then, winning the PL will be nothing but an insufficient consolation, a piece of cake that tastes like fabric, worsens your pain and makes a mockery of your hunger. We wait.

INVESTMENT BANKING IS FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN IT‼️ So who will report to these investment banking managers and top executives? Who will prepare the documents that these managers will review. Other top executives? Cause by your logic there is no junior on the team. So all the managers will be “managing” themselves. One manager will build a model and send it to his co-manager to review. Another manager will prepare a pitch deck and forward it to a co-manager that will correct the errors and then send to yet another manager for approval. I think the mistake you’re making is that the knowledge you have is from commercial banking. It’s not the same.

Investment banking is not for newbies. I have a friend who work with FSDH, he says it takes them years to close one deal. Early last year, he said their investment banker closed a deal that almost surpassed the banks 50% annual budget. Investment banking is not about advising someone to buy stocks or put money into one investment or the other. That’s not investment banking. Can you champion a merger between two companies? Can you work on a ₦100B bond issuance? Can you oversee the structuring of multi-billion naira transaction deal between two corporates? Investment banking is chaired by senior level bankers and top management executives.
