Tip of the day: Know when to go hard and when to take it easy when throwing. Often it is when things aren’t going well that you want to go harder, but really you should back off and return to a technical base.

Tip of the day: There will not always be a drill or exercise to help you make a technical change. Most of the time it comes down to focus and patience on the task at hand.

Tip of the day: Being “clutch” isn’t anything other than repeating what you have already done or doing what you are confident deep down that you can do.

Tip of the day: If your right leg is driving too far across the circle, try being more dominant with your left leg, driving across the left more than the right.

Tip of the day: One of the biggest faults many throwers have is that they will give up after five attempts at making a technical change. Changing anything requires patience, and in the throw it can often take hundreds of attempts before you get it down.

Tip of the day: Pair your drills with full throws, taking one or two drills then going straight into a full throw. This will help carry over the feeling of the drill to the actual throw!

Tip of the day: Before figuring out how long to take off after the end of the season, look at when your vacations are. If your already taking a 2 week vacation in July, you don’t need 3 weeks off in June!

Tip of the day: Meet day meditation. Take some time in the morning to quiet all of the thoughts going through your head, take deep breaths, and relax. You will expose and sift out a lot of irrational stress surrounding competition.

Tip of the day: What should you eat the day of competition? Think more about what foods to avoid, like greasy foods and empty carbs. Provide your body with the energy and nutrients it needs without going overboard!

Tip of the day: Confidence is hands down most powerful tool going into any competition. That doesn’t necessarily mean talking or even acting like you can do it, but knowing and trusting deep down that your preparation will produce a giant throw out if you.

Tip of the day: Everyone asks how they can get recruited. It’s very simple, you need to throw far. You will throw far by working harder than everyone else and by taking advantage of the many resources available to you to learn the sport.

Tip of the day: Do have trouble rotating too much out of the back and into the middle of the circle? After the right foot picks up, hold the left knee towards the center of the sector.

Tip of the day: It’s okay to be upset after a competition where you didn’t compete as well as you wanted. But at some point sit down and figure out where things went wrong to produce that result.
