I'm not a fan of deploying the heckler's veto, even though that tactic has been routinely used by the far left on Michigan's campus. I did, however, sign up for a spot! If chants of "USA! USA!" break out during Piker's moment with the microphone, it wasn't me!

Very nervous that Democrats are poised to nominate Gilchrist over his more experienced opponent. His opponent has a lot of support from clerks who actually run elections. Trusting a minuscule and extremely motivated constituency of whomever shows up for a meeting is bad.

WATCH: Former community safety staffer for Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Manny Whitfield, is speaking out. Whitfield says he and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Garien Gatewood were fired by mayoral aide and police abolitionist Kennedy Bartley after putting police abolitionist Alyx Goodwin on a performance improvement plan.

NEW: More details are emerging on Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s surprise firing of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Garien Gatewood. Sources close to Johnson’s office claim Gatewood filed a complaint late last year with the inspector general’s office, alleging unethical practices and a hostile work environment. I’m also told Gatewood was fired while attempting to put Senior Policy Advisor Alyx Goodwin on a performance improvement plan. Goodwin previously worked as an activist supporting police and prison abolition alongside Kennedy Bartley, who is now Johnson’s head of intergovernmental affairs and one of his closest aides.

This is important: "I told yall about John Fetterman's 🚩, but I was harassed and ignored." It was not easy, in 2022, to oppose Fetterman. Doing so meant getting swarmed w/ bullies. So it's not *just* that we have been proven right, it's that folks tried to bully us into silence.
