As part of International Women’s day we are highlighting the two Cardiologists involved in CRY’s research programme supported by the Heart of West London Campaign #HoWL lead by Brentford FC. Dr Sabiha Gait (@s_gati) and Dr Nirmitha Jayaratne (@nimjy). Former CRY research fellow Dr Gati is supervising Dr Jayaratne's current research project which is largely funded by Brentford FC and the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, through the HoWL initiative. In this vital national article, which has been shared across six key ITV regions, CRY supporter @Hils_Nicholls, CRY CEO @Drstevenjcox, and Professor @MichaelPapadak2 discuss with ITV News the critical need for ECGs to be read by specialists in order to prevent the misinterpretation of results. Hilary, whose daughter Clarissa tragically died last year due to an undiagnosed heart condition, had previously had an ECG after collapsing during a sports event. Tragically, Clarissa was given the all-clear because her results were not read by a specialist.
