مرجانه ساتراپی درگذشت، اما پرسشی که پس از مرگ او باقی می‌ماند نه صرفا درباره زندگی یک هنرمند، بلکه درباره سرنوشت تصویری است که او از ایران ساخت و به جهان فروخت. مرگ هنرمند، اثر را از نقد معاف نمی‌کند. برعکس، لحظه مرگ گاهی لحظه بازگشت جدی‌تر به میراث اوست؛ نه برای سوگواری بی‌قید، بلکه برای سنجش اینکه کدام تصویر از ما، از سوی او در جهان ماندگار شد. ساتراپی با پرسپولیس بدل به یکی از چهره‌های مطلوب بازار فرهنگی غرب شد: زن ایرانی، تبعیدی، منتقد جمهوری اسلامی، مسلط به زبان تصویری ساده، آماده برای ترجمه، آماده برای مصرف، آماده برای قرار گرفتن در قفسه امن وجدان لیبرال اروپا. مشکل دقیقا از همین‌جا آغاز می‌شود. پرسپولیس فقط خاطره شخصی نیست؛ خاطره‌ای است که در لحظه جهانی شدن، خود را به صورت «ایران» عرضه می‌کند. و این ایران، ایرانی است که برای دیده شدن در چشم غرب باید ساده شود، سیاه و سفید شود، مذهبی‌اش خشن شود، انقلابی‌اش هیستریک شود، دهه شصتش به کابوس تقلیل یابد، و جامعه‌اش همچون صحنه‌ای از تاریکی اخلاقی نمایش داده شود که تنها راه رهایی از آن، خروج، تبعید، فرانسه، فردیت سکولار و نگاه اروپایی است. از منظر ادوارد سعید، شرق‌شناسی فقط محصول شرق‌شناسان اروپایی نیست؛ گاهی سوژه شرقی نیز در مقام «راوی بومی» همان دستگاه را بازتولید می‌کند. ساتراپی در پرسپولیس دقیقا در چنین جایگاهی می‌ایستد: او نه شرق‌شناس کلاسیک، بلکه «مخبر بومی» جهان لیبرال است؛ کسی که از درون می‌آید تا به بیرون بگوید ایران چیست. اما آنچه می‌گوید، بیش از آنکه ایران باشد، ایران قابل فهم برای غرب است. ایران او جامعه‌ای است که در آن پیچیدگی تاریخی، طبقاتی، مذهبی و عاطفی دهه شصت در برابر نیاز روایی مخاطب غربی قربانی می‌شود. این همان لحظه‌ای است که خاطره شخصی به کالای پسااستعماری تبدیل می‌شود. پرسپولیس در ظاهر علیه استبداد است، اما در سطح عمیق‌تر، نوعی دیگری‌سازی از جامعه ایرانی را ممکن می‌کند. جامعه مذهبی ایران در این اثر کمتر به مثابه مجموعه‌ای متکثر از انسان‌ها، خانواده‌ها، زنان، مردان، خاطرات، ایمان‌ها، ترس‌ها، فشارها، امیدها و تناقض‌ها ظاهر می‌شود؛ بیشتر به شکل توده‌ای تهدیدآمیز، بی‌چهره، عبوس و سرکوبگر بازنمایی می‌شود. زن چادری اغلب نشانه خطر است، مرد مذهبی اغلب نشانه خشونت، خیابان مذهبی‌شده نشانه فقدان زندگی، و انقلاب اسلامی نشانه سقوط ناگهانی از تمدن به تاریکی. این دقیقا همان زبان بصری است که شرق‌شناسی دوست دارد: جهان مسلمان نه به مثابه امر تاریخی، بلکه به مثابه امر انحرافی. دهه شصت ایران در پرسپولیس نه فقط نقد می‌شود، بلکه کوبیده می‌شود. تفاوت مهمی میان نقد یک دهه پرماجرا و تراژیک با نابود کردن تمام هویت اجتماعی آن دهه وجود دارد. دهه شصت فقط زندان، اعدام، گشت، جنگ و اجبار نبود؛ دهه بسیج اجتماعی، ایثار، مقاومت، خانواده‌های سوگوار، ایمان‌های صادقانه، امیدهای انقلابی، خطاهای فاجعه‌بار، رویارویی برادران و شکل‌گیری نسلی بود که در میان جنگ و ایدئولوژی و محرومیت زندگی کرد. ساتراپی اما این بافت پیچیده را به صحنه‌ای برای تأیید یک نتیجه از پیش آماده فرو می‌کاهد: اینکه ایران پس از انقلاب، ایران از دست رفته است. در این روایت، آنچه نابود شده فقط آزادی فردی نیست؛ خود جامعه ایرانی نیز به صورت موجودی عقب‌مانده، خشن و غیرقابل نجات ظاهر می‌شود. حتی عنوان پرسپولیس نیز بی‌طرف نیست. چرا «پرسپولیس»؟ چرا نام یونانی تخت‌جمشید؟ این انتخاب عنوان، آگاهانه یا ناآگاهانه، ایران را از مسیر نگاه کلاسیک غربی قابل مصرف می‌کند: ایران به مثابه دیگری برای ذائقه اروپایی که ادامه سنت بربر خواندن پارسیان است. در همین شکاف است که اثر ساتراپی به جای نقد حکومت، ناخواسته به نقد جامعه بدل می‌شود؛ به جای نقد قدرت، به تحقیر فرهنگی نزدیک می‌شود. نقد جنسیتی پرسپولیس نیز به همان اندازه ضروری است. ساتراپی خود را در مقام صدای زن ایرانی معرفی می‌کند، اما زن ایرانی در جهان او عمدتا زمانی معتبر است که علیه مذهب، علیه حجاب، علیه خانواده سنتی و علیه فضای عمومی دینی تعریف شود. زن مذهبی، زن چادری، زن طبقه پایین، زن باورمند، زن انقلابی، یا زنانی که درون سنت مذاکره می‌کنند، کمتر صاحب سوژگی‌اند. در نتیجه، فمینیسم پرسپولیس بیش از آنکه فمینیسمی اجتماعی و چندصدایی باشد، فمینیسمی طبقاتی، سکولار، تبعیدی و قابل ترجمه برای غرب است. این فمینیسم به زن ایرانی حق سخن گفتن می‌دهد، اما بیشتر به آن زن ایرانی که شبیه مخاطب اروپایی می‌شود.👇🏼۱
