Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has commuted the death sentence of Charles Lee Burton to life in prison. Good on her. Under Alabama law, if someone dies in the course of a crime, all of the accomplices can be charged with murder. But in this case, the shooter was sentenced to life in prison. Burton wasn’t even in the store when it happened. But Burton got the death penalty. It took until the week of Burton's scheduled execution to put things right, but better late than never.

I’ll go on record saying that I don’t believe SP deserves to be fired after this one god awful season, BUT I do believe there needs to be several long conversations with him this off season about what he needs to do for the 26/27 season or else. The guys on this roster didn’t sign up to play for SP and that’s become more glaringly obvious the past several weeks. Everyone has given up and it’s made the games unwatchable in my opinion. At this point, I’m just hoping this offseason won’t be a complete disaster.

When bad SEC losses offset good SEC wins ... Auburn has beaten the teams that are 1st (Florida), 3rd (Arkansas) and tied for fourth (Kentucky). Auburn has lost to the teams that are tied for 12th (Mississippi State and Oklahoma) and 14th (Ole Miss). Those bad losses all came in the last 10 days.
