@DMartinez5200 @WrightMath314 @MrsGallardo1 Hi Danny, I think it is important that our classrooms are accepting and safe for all of our students. Our differences are what make us unique, but they can also build our community. It creates opportunities for our students to be accepting of others.

@WrightMath314 @MrsGallardo1 I can create a safe and brave environment for students by allowing them to share ideas and thoughts. I will allow for cultural awareness and appreciation of our differences. I think students nowadays don't have a space to safely express what's on their minds and work as a team.

@WrightMath314 @MrsGallardo1 We can be advocates by standing up for or students needs. We need to foster relationships with our students by listening and engaging with them to figure our what their needs may be. We are a role model for our students, so we need to show them what a advocate looks like.

@WrightMath314 @MrsGallardo1 I engage in self-reflection about any implicit biases that I may have. Everyone has implicit biases so it's important to be aware of what our implicit biases are and reflect on what were doing about them.

Q4: We all have room for growth. How will you “engage in self-reflection about your beliefs, practices, and biases”? @MrsGallardo1 #EDEL5200

@WrightMath314 @MrsGallardo1 As a teacher, I will self-reflect on my own behavior on a daily basis. I think it's important to learn about different cultures to better understand the needs of my students. We are advocates for our students, so it's important we gain perspective to become better educators.

@WrightMath314 @MrsGallardo1 Having empathy means that you can imagine what someone else if feeling even if you've never been through it. Our students have lives that may be different from our own. Its important to be empathic to understand our students and be a support system for them.

@WrightMath314 @MrsGallardo1 A2)We will work together to achieve the same goals we have for each student and in order to build a culture/ community of acceptance we all must be open to different opinions/ suggestions each person may have.

@WrightMath314 @joboaler @MrsGallardo1 Q3: Math is treated differently compared to other subjects. Math anxiety stems from the fact that students are expected to memorize so much and are often timed on their tests. This creates an added stress to our students. #EDEL5200

@WrightMath314 @joboaler @MrsGallardo1 Q2: We can encourage students to use numbers flexibly by doing daily number talks with them. We can show them that there can be multiple strategies for solving problems. This allows our students to express their thinking and have conversations about numbers. #EDEL5200

@WrightMath314 @joboaler @MrsGallardo1 The memorization of math facts is unnecessary/damaging because it doesn't allow our students to be flexible with numbers. They need to have a strong number sense to work with numbers. Memorization doesn't allow them to find multiple solutions by thinking of others ways to solve.

The past two weeks have been a while ride. I started the first 6 weeks of the school year teaching kindergarten. Then I got displaced and moved to 5th grade. Happy to have survived my first week in 5th grade!

I just wanted to shoutout @DrEddiesClass for being an amazing online professor. I've taken a lot of online classes but never one like his. You can tell all the effort he puts into the class to make sure his students understand. I really enjoyed EDTE 4200. You are appreciated.

@jtmusmc @teachsci8 Hi Jason, I really like what you said about creativity being the foundation of advancement because its so true. People don't even know how creative they can be and technology gives them ideas to be creative. #csubted @DrEddiesClass

@teachsci8 A1: We can promote students publishing and producing with technology by creating engaging and fun projects for students to be apart of. It's easy to consume, but we have to show kids that they can be the ones to make things for others to consume. #CSUBTED @DrEddiesClass

@teachsci8 A4: Educators can promote children publishing and producing with technology by introducing them to the various ways assignments can be done. Have students do short clips videos or group presentations with powerpoints rather than the typical written paper. #CSUBTED @Duncannedd
