#Habs Nick Suzuki needs 26 points in his last 20 games in order to reach 100 points. Not an easy task, but it's certainly achievable. I don't think anyone had him reaching such a ceiling.

Canadiens will have a chance to pounce on great players as the cap rises to $113M in 2027. Teams with internal caps (and there will be a number) will have to shed players. And 2027 lines up beautifully with the Habs Stanley Cup contender window. Be patient (and hang on to Hage)

@brenmidov I agree with you here. You have 3 goalies they can play in the playoffs. Have a showdown between them— they get experience. Hughes evaluates. And revisit goalie position in the summer.

Not that goaltending hasn’t been an issue, but why are you willing to spend assets on it when this probably isn’t a cup contention year?? Why not give Dobes the net and see how he handles it?

You love the #GoHabsGo  if you love hockey. I’ve always admired franchises like #GoAvsGo  & #LetsGoOilers  that prioritize offence for winning, in the face of d-first built teams. Even when losing. It’s a choice. It’s what we wanna see succeed.

@brendanshowbiz Easily. In fact I think the Habs would have sailed through the preliminaries. ‘Best on best’ doesn’t necessarily mean best hockey. Although the gold medal was incredible.

Habs would’ve won that three-on-three overtime. Easily.

Hindsight is 20/20. But that’s what we’re here for. And it’s how Team Canada can get better. Coaching - felt like they left a lot on the table. @mike_p_johnson said it— all these players are stars on their respective teams but many were brought to their knees.
Brendan Kelly@brendanshowbiz

I'm finding it so funny reading my timelines, listening to sports media today, that so many are absolutely closed to the notion that there can be ANY criticism of the coaching of Team Canada. They shout at us – Hellebuyck stole the game, Canada was the better team. 1/

@SBrooks_77 @thegoldenmuzzy Ya. We knew. And I admittedly thought they needed to trade him to help the rebuild. But in hindsight he would have been perfect now —- nobody knew the rebuild would advance this fast.

@thegoldenmuzzy Huge difference. Habs fans knew. We started a rebuild. Leaf fans actually thought theyd be better. I predicted them to miss playoffs.

@WaveIntel He just seems lost on the wing. Out of position, chasing puck a little too much, afraid to carry it.

Nick Suzuki is arguably a top 5 Canadian forward but not at wing. if you are not going to play him at center then you're better off not dressing him. However put him on a defensive line and ask him to go against the oppositions best and he'll succeed.

You can tell that Nick Suzuki is really stuggling at this level. He’s been highly sheltered in Montreal and it looks like he might be exposed at this tournament. Habs may want to look at trading him at the deadline.

Suzuki made a classic Suzuki skill play to get the puck to MacKinnon for the goal. Before the penalty 😬

Sportsnet’s Luke Gazdic on Habs captain Nick Suzuki: “He’s on pace for career highs across the board. We’re watching a guy become one of the best two-way centres in the game…He’s incredibly durable and we’re watching him mature in real time.”
