@egarbugli Yes. i love Kapanen. Some similarities to Suzuki when he broke in. High IQ. defensively responsible. good puck mamagement. does not overextend himself to make plays. Great center of gravity. This is kids has serious defensive-centre potential.

10 games in. Here are some thoughts on the #gohabsgo... 1️⃣ Great start. Improved 5v5 metrics & evident major injection of skill- mostly Demidov providing star power down the lineup, & between Dobson, Hutson & Matheson, there's alway star-quality puck moving on the ice; often 2!

Unfortunately, the NHL is still a big boy league. Size does matter. And you can argue it matters more for a young Habs team deploying Caufield and especially Hutson. Veleno may be big, but he doesn't play big and he does not bring a strong D game to the table.

Just a quick depth analysis (ignore position specifics) of the Canadiens organization shows that there are still some needs to be met in free agency: - A fifth goaltender in the system. Probably AHL contract, to be placed in the ECHL. - A few more defencemen at the AHL level, one or two assigned to the ECHL. - Forwards look pretty well stocked. Maybe one more to be added. - Lions still working through the signing period, with qualifying offers due on July 7th.
