I’m Canadian.
Until today I’ve never really been in favour of Alberta separation, although I understand their motives and support their right to do so.
Today all that changed. Our government, for the fifth time, has shown that democracy is meaningless to them.

Separatist leader, Mitch Sylvestre, wants the Court to issue an injunction and stop his signature collection. This way, he’ll never need to prove that he got 177,000 signatures (I doubt he did) and Danielle Smith will give him a referendum anyhow.

Canada is the third largest oil exporter in the world. Insulating our domestic oil prices from global prices would mean exporting less oil! That would be a scandalous act in a global energy crisis. Canada has no strategic reserves to help ease this crisis, what we do have is the ability to keep putting our barrels into global markets and getting them to places where the scarcity is greatest = price is highest.
