@AlexWilsonESM Is Caleb Downs head and shoulders above Love as a prospect? No. If anything I think Love is better player. There is NO player in this draft that is heads above the others. So the Giants should pick the best player on the board. Regardless of position. If that is Love, so be it.

Jeremiah Love is undoubtedly a star in the making — do I want him at 5, no, due to positional value, but he immediately makes our offense better. Both things can be true.

Doesn't really matter where they add. A scout once told me a top OL needs 3 studs, and 2 decent players you can work around. The Giants OL has 1 stud -- Andrew Thomas. Maybe 2 if you put Eluemunor in that category.

The Giants' pass rush is great on paper right now. If you trade Kayvon Thibodeaux away, the Giants' pass rush is still great on paper. Trading Kayvon frees up $14.75M in cap space. If you can get a Day 2 pick in return for Thibs, you make the deal. This offseason is filled with edge rusher talent in both free agency and the NFL Draft. The Giants should have no problem replacing Thibodeaux's production with a player on a longer deal at a fraction of the cost. KT is a free agent in 2027. The Giants aren't gonna be able to pay him long term. Get something for him now before he leaves for nothing. They can trade KT, save $15M, and sign a player more productive for half the cost on a three-year deal. The Burns-Carter-Lawrence trio is still top tier. Swap Thibodeaux out for a mid-tier veteran rusher or a Day 2 developmental guy, and the Giants still have a defensive line that projects as a top-10 unit in the NFL.
