@NoahGairn Meeting startups at defence shows is one of my favourite parts of the show! Noting of course some smaller companies don’t always have the budget to come to the bigger shows, and that breaking into defence can also be daunting…

Really happy to have discussions with several of Canada's defence startups and small businesses today. The message is clear. Startups are ready to play their part in Canada's Defence Industrial Base, but they need support, and change to get there. Stay tuned! 🙂

Doing this now so that I don’t have to explain it many times: On the 1st day of my stay in Paris, I had to make - on the phone - the decision to euthanize Gaufre at the young age of 2. Needless to say I am heartbroken to have to grieve her away from home.

@Mattl8241 The Ministers have a crushing schedule, they don't have time to dig into the process of how submissions make it to TB, only to review it when it gets there. This is all at the high level public servant up to ADMs - they are captured by current process & inculcated to avoid risk.

🔥take: Stop blaming one party or the other. Many challenges (i.e. housing allowances) stem from decades long Treasury Board policies of treating public servants, RCMP, & CAF the same. No government will meet Defence goals, incl procurement, without big changes to TBS rules.

This document represents a lot of hard work on the part of the project team(s). It’s no small feat to get it to this point. As a previous project director for this one, I’m very interested to see where it goes!

@MidOfficer Oddly enough… my DG is asking me to write up a proposal to do just that. And giving me the time to do it.. Would like to pick your brain!

@alexfrudolph We wrote the Memorandum to Cabinet and Treasury Board Submission that built the Ukraine military aid program in two weeks. No one ever wants to just go to Cabinet with a specific proposal to fix procurement. Give me a month, I'll do it.

@MidOfficer It's interesting how little interest there seems to be (at least that I can observe) in actually trying to understand the causes behind pretty varied outcomes between the major capability sponsors' force developement efforts, and applying lessons learned, etc
