KMPDC should shut down pharmacies operating right next to public hospitals. Many are owned by clinicians who refer patients there for lab tests and drugs.

In Katowice, EU funds a total revamp of the railway network:
- 5 new railways stops on the metropolitan line, plus renovation and/or expansion of 16 existing ones
- metropolitan traffic will be separated from long-distance traffic by adding 40 km of new pair of tracks
- 280 km of existing tracks will be renovated
- 195 bridges, viaducts, overpasses and underpasses will be built or re-built, including a 600-meter bridge in Zebrzydowice on the Czech border
Total cost: PLN 7 billion, of which the EU pays PLN 6 billion under the "Connecting Europe" instrument.
