ACEM is concerned ‘GP-type patients’ are once again being blamed for crowding in Queensland EDs while the root systemic causes contributing to hospital access block remain un-addressed. @johnubonn @hansendisease Full statement: acem.org.au/News/March-202…

This month at Journal Club we look at the PEGeD study - can we adjust d-dimer cut offs according to clinical probability?

The lovely Nurse Romy, an accredited immunisation nurse worked with me to create a guide for talking about vaccination. We combined her clinical expertise with my educational expertise! A thread 🧵 on talking about vaccination 1/

In this month's Gold Coast ED Journal Club we are looking at the safety and efficacy of Pfizer's mRNA Covid-19 vaccine, published in the NEJM. Come join in what should be a great discussion! @GKeijzers_EM @SocraticEM @purdy_eve

@JoCBishopHD @LiangRhea I think it’s lots of little things that can be the difference. Having people of diverse sexualities and genders represented in their exam questions, PBL cases, SPs as well as included content within lectures etc. not something to be learned separately.

An excellent thread on why we should use #LGBTQI 🏳️‍🌈 terminology rather than 'sexual and gender minorities' (=othering). My related question- I don't like how 'LGBTQI' lumps sexual diversity with gender diversity. What are good terms to use for 'LGB' or 'TQI' on their own? 🤔

👇🏻Thread For the second time this week, a nurse has asked me whether the term LGBTQ+ should be replaced by the phrase “sexual and gender minorities” in nursing texts. 1/

Moments of crisis, like #COVID19, are moments of cultural compression...Moments when values and beliefs of a group are more easily identified and then shaped. Moments that can tell organizations an awful lot about who we are, what matters most, and who we might become. #EDAC2020

@Klodiana23 @AMEE_Online @SocraticEM There is so much awesome wrapped up in this picture - I remember clearly as midway through my last night shift @GC_Health in 2019. A diverse and powerful team. Strong relationships as foundational to our work. So many rainbow lanyards. And, of course, role allocation stickers 😂
