@BrandyBuizel @Shigloo merch buttons and series playlists on newgrounds would be super cool! and yea the rest of the features i was throwing out there wouldnt work for newgrounds. this wasn't a super serious idea and i didnt expect it to leave my circle or i wouldve worded it clearer haha :P

so when are indie animation productions gonna band together and make a centralized platform specifically for indie productions ?

@MajinWizardo as in PRODUCTION TEAMS. lol. a crew of 3+ people with 0 budget is still indie! just because something has a crew doesn't mean it isn't indie anymore, or almost no indie productions would be indie. every other site is made so that any solo creator can post.

@CarsickC66939 newgrounds definitely is the closest thing but it lacks (and contradicts!) the main features i was suggesting. newgrounds is definitely awesome tho!

@_burntlime_ The closest thing I can think of is newgrounds but the NG community is kinda hard to break into cuz of the rating/blamming system

@BrandyBuizel @Shigloo bc changing newgrounds to make it so that only production teams could post anywhere but fan forums would make it not newgrounds anymore,,, and newgrounds is absolutely important to exist !

@Cryptid_Coast @Shigloo truth nuke... tragically silly ratio happening rn LOL.. it's more like nebulatv with built in fan forums and a specific highlight put on links to donate/buy merch to fund projects. only teams would be able to post anywhere except for the specific fan forums!

@_burntlime_ It would also be really cool if there was a section that would host weekly livestreams where new episodes of ongoing series could air, kinda like how things were with cable. This would also be a great opportunity to make bumpers popular again!

@macadondee well this was just a hypothetically shower thought but it wouldnt really be the *site* funding the projects, but rather a spotlight put on donation/merch links for viewers to donate directly. the hypothetical host site would probably run on donations + site ads :P

@cyrus_rebello yeah for sure. tiktok has taken a lot of eyes too and moved ppl away from content over 2min long. was just a shower thought :P wishful thinking

@_burntlime_ It's a neat idea for sure! I think of you had glitch or other web series creators support it, it would be even more successful.
Problem is social/video streaming sites are very expensive to run, viewership across even big ones like newgrounds/dailymotion has declined gradually

like other than within community/fan forums only verified productions would be allowed to post video content. by productions i mean TEAMS ! not solo creators that post to newgrounds/youtube. this would be focused on teamss

guys i know newgrounds exists 😵💫 pls read the threaddd im essentially talking about a newgrounds with more specific features for getting indie productions funded that i dont think would really work if added to newgrounds

@cyrus_rebello agree! and the projects would still of course be posted and promoted on other socials. but, the main ones funding indie anim tend to already be fans of indie anim. they donate the most and buy the most merch. having a centralized site focused on that could be really cool

@_burntlime_ Issue is, you need the general audience to watch your show, not just other indie animation creators/fans
Mainstream social media platforms are still currently the only way for indie projects to get really big
