Fun fact: my original @DeGodsNFT trucker hat was going to be made with a thick, matte-finish 3D rubber logo instead of the bright white TPU. I thought it would look awesome (it did), but after testing out my sample it appeared the rubber could darken over time (it did). Here are some of my rambling thoughts behind testing/sampling/prototyping and why it’s critical to do these if you want to ensure a quality product.

People just didn’t like what we released & we mismanaged expectations. It’s not like we tried to milk the community on SIII. We literally just didn’t give people free stuff in a smart enough way & some people didn’t like the new art. y00ts community feels like they haven’t been prioritized for over a year + $DUST doesn’t have utility beyond art upgrades & mints. These are all solvable problems and we’ll do this and more. I’m simply not as doom & gloom as many others. The idea that we’re just going to fade into the distance is not grounded in any reality. We’re on top of it.

"Brand" is a way to make commodities feel special. "Design" is a unique product that is inherently special. (thought inspired by @frankdegods)

@frankdegods Well here’s my 2 cents then. I can see the teams playing catch after the release of season 3. Rightfully so. Things didn’t roll out as expected fair enough, some unforseen weather with whales making som splashes. Ok.

So, @DeGodsNFT are in a tricky situation. Let's talk about the elephant in the room...WHALES! Current events are emblematic of the intricate dynamics that often unfold between project founders & whales, which commonly fall into one of two scenarios. Symbiotic Relationship: Large stakeholders offer unwavering support contingent upon the founders' genuine efforts & dedication to the project's vision. Recognizing this allegiance, founders often extend certain privileges or rewards as tokens of appreciation. Transactional Leverage: Here, whales, by virtue of their considerable holdings, position themselves strategically to exert influence over founders. The implicit, or at times explicit, threat of substantial liquidation acts as a leverage tool, compelling founders to make concessions that may deviate from the project's core objectives. Projects subjected to transactional leverage often face existential challenges. The motivation for many is, quite transparently, monetary gains or enhanced social stature. Given this, at some point a more enticing opportunity elsewhere will attract attention, rendering previous projects as old news. However, projects fortified by strong communities have the capability to weather large sell offs. While short-term pain is undeniable, placating to significant stakeholders merely postpones inevitable challenges. As long as the whale still has leverage, the same problems will re-emerge down the road. Besides, if founders cater to unreasonable demands, it sets the precedent that anyone can buy their way to the top & influence the direction of the project. The resilience & fortitude of the @DeGodsNFT community has been proven. It's imperative to underscore that capitulating to ultimatums that compromise the project's essence is detrimental to its long-term vision. I'm an advocate for unwavering commitment to core principles, an emphasis on collective over individualistic gains, and faith in the inherent self-correcting nature of free markets. I don't mean for this to be unsolicited advice. After all, what do I know. I just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter. Good luck to the team in navigating through everything.
