So grateful for the opportunity to wrestle this year. After tearing my PCL in week two of football, I was told I’d likely miss the entire wrestling season with an 8–10 month recovery. Instead, I worked my way back in just four months—only one month before the state tournament—and gave it everything I had. The week before state I came down with strep and couldn’t stop coughing, which made preparing even harder. But after battling both the illness and my knee injury, I’m proud to say I placed 8th at the state tournament with only one month of wrestling this season!
