The Dark and the Wicked is so fucking good. I know it'll be on my best of the year list simply due to the amount of times I said, "Oh fuck no," out loud while watching it.

If you’re into horror, I HIGHLY recommend The Dark and the Wicked. Among the scariest movies I’ve ever seen.

A truly scary meditation on grief, mortality and anguish, THE DARK AND THE WICKED is Bryan Bertino reminding the horror world that he can still go with the best of them. It also feels very much like a film made as a response to the post-HEREDITARY reality of "elevated horror."
