@__AlexMonahan__ It did, but they (logistics company, my client) had been asked to provide a subcontracted service for one of their clients, and so they duplicated the database - so two copies side by side. I was called in when they were asked to provide the same for a second client.

What is the craziest thing you've built or seen in SQL? Mine is probably the single select statement with 22 joins... I've also written SQL that writes dynamic SQL to do pivoting, which is also pretty gnarly.

@accuser @SvelteSociety @sveltejs @lihautan very nice :) just last night I had the idea of packaging up some of the higher-order stores we use in production. Ours focus on temporal operations useful for dataviz: previous state, delayed state, transient state

Let's say I was hiring for a Frontend Engineer. How are you going to sell me on why I should hire you?

@SvelteSociety It took a little while to make the mental shift, but I absolutely love it right now. I’ve ported an older project to the new routing this weekend, and it feels so much better. There are some DX improvements needed - generated type syncing - but that’ll come. 👏

Svelte Summit 2023 - where do we host it? We need places that have good direct flights to as many places as possible!

@seldo Decided not to pay for Copilot when the trial ended, I think I’m actually more productive because I’m no longer having to parse Copilot’s suggestions before accepting/rejecting them.

"We gave developers a toy task at which copilot excels and people who used copilot were much faster at it" is not proving anything either way.
DX Tips Magazine@DXTipsHQ

Developers using @github Copilot are 2x faster than developers who don't. Randomly assigned, statistically significant. AI-assisted coding is the greatest leap forward in measurable, mostly undisputed, dev experience + dev productivity we have seen in a long, long time.

@hhthacker Love this! Removing distractions is huge and being able to prioritize pieces of work. Most of the time I get overwhelmed from lack of prioritization. Once I have priorities, it's easier for me to lock in and get stuff done.

@antony We tend to start our context() blocks with “when…”, which makes a nice pairing with it() blocks starting with “should…”. The test logs then read: “Component: when the order is valid it should display a success message.”

SvelteKit now has an accessibility section in the docs! It covers: - how SK handles route announcements and focus management - setting the `lang` attribute - a list of additional resources Thanks to @a11yMel and @accuser for their feedback on the content kit.svelte.dev/docs/accessibi…

@skamille They probably don’t have clear objectives, and certainly aren’t measuring the appropriate key results.Activity is also easier to measure than impact, so there is that too.

Jared White 👋 @jaredwhite@indieweb.social
I’m putting my money where my mouth is (so to speak). I’m building a tool to convert Tailwind utility class HTML soup to 100% vanilla HTML + CSS with design token variables. Output looks virtually identical. Copypasta from your favorite TW UI library, click a button, and boom!

If you live in London and are the parent or carer of a child aged 1 to 9, please bring them in for their polio vaccine. There have been no cases of polio so please don’t worry. An extra dose of the polio vaccine can keep our little ones safe & keep polio firmly in the past
