Winter Power Outage Hack! When your house becomes too cold, the basement is actually warmer. Pitch a tent in the basement! Use a couple candles to create some heat and trap it in. You won't even need to wear your coat! Cuddle under blankets with a pet when sleeping. @DTE_Energy
@DTE_Energy is there any way i can get an actual estimate for my service area and not just "95% of customers"? i need to know if i need to seek emergency shelter. my home is not safe anymore.
Restoration Update: As of 5:30 a.m. DTE crews had restored power to over 330,000 customers affected by the ice storm. Over 4,000 line workers and support staff continue to restore power today. Please stay 25 feet away from any down wire and do not cross caution tape.
@DTE_Energy My house is at 43 degrees and dropping, fast. I lost power on Wednesday, and the DTE app still says that my estimated restoration time is unavailable.
Get it together. It shouldn’t be difficult to give us at least an estimation.
@DTE_Energy 5:30pm is definitely early evening... It is well past early afternoon. It will be dark in a couple hours. Please provide your promised more accurate estimate.
Estimated restoration times will be updated on the DTE outage map early this afternoon. We have 3,400 employees in the field with additional crews joining hourly. Here is a short video with an explanation of our restoration process:
Restoration update: 160,000 DTE customers have been restored since the heavy ice storm rolled through Southern Michigan Wednesday and Thursday. Today crews are working to restore power to 200,000 more customers.
@TDM1225@DTE_Energy I recently moved over the DTE/consumers energy line, pretty much same terrain/foliage. Consumers, I never lost power for more than 2 hours at a time mayyyybe once a year over 10 years. DTE? At least once a month for a few hours and multiple day events like each quarter.
@DTE_Energy I moved from California, where the grid is always severely strained. Encountered earthquakes, floods, and mudslides. Never had a more than 24 hour power outage. What is the deal with DTE? Clearly, they are inept. 2nd multi day outage in less than 6 months...
@damnarbor@DTE_Energy My house isn't in an area unless max zoom. It disappears when I try to see the extent of my outage area, can't view a wider region. I used to be able to easily see if I could go charge my phone at a coffee shop over in this area with power. I lose power so often this is an issue?
Conspiracy theory: the new @DTE_Energy outage map is designed to make it harder to take a screen shot showing the extent of current outages.
