@PaulaSeeksTruth I think that being able to restructure the very way in which we relate to our own identity is what will enable more honesty. Since we punish each other and ourselves when information is perceived as destabilizing, creating incentives for dishonesty.

@PaulaSeeksTruth To encourage the shift from seeing identity as an all encompassing reality to seeing them as tools that one can put down and pick up is what I think is needed.

people, please be more honest and deal with whatever comes out of it the world is so fucked up because everyone is always lying to themselves and to each other, we don't have safety and trust, we don't have deep bonds all these are possible with more honesty

@Thomasdelvasto_ I've had some exposure the past months to some really vile stuff going on. Not even direct exposure but the effects of it have rippled and reached me and it's as though the situation was deliberate as it exploited weaknesses of mine I didn't even know were there.

superhero stories are so compelling because we inherently know there are flying powerful angels and demons that influence the world unbeknownst to us

Morality by Kegan stage: 2: ppl who do what I want are nice ppl 3: being a good person is hard but how to do it is very simple/obvious 4: what is "good" and how to do it is extremely complicated and a matter of debate 5: goodness is directional, contextual, fuzzy/imperfect

@Nullspeed1987 What things do you tend to be curious about lately and why?

For transparency. I made this account to pretty much post whatever weird questions I have in the hopes someone else enjoys the rabbit holes. And to post whatever weird creative ideas I have. Also because I'm disabled and needed something to do with my time and occasionally talk to interesting people. That's it. One more thing please do correct me if I say something wrong. I do genuinely appreciate it.

Weird question for the small amount of people who actually see my account. So I've always assumed I was average or slightly below average in intelligence. But after a few months on here and actually paying attention to what other people say. Not just books I read. I'm starting to question a lot of stuff. I don't think I'm some smart dude or anything. But holy fuck the amount of times I've seen people completely miss the point or just ignore what's in front of them is insane. Is that what average is? Or is my social group IRL bizarre and I've been oblivious and biased? Blinded by my lack of experience. Maybe it's my fault for avoiding social media for so long.

What are the main aspects in life that people typically feel shame about? Ones I can think of: 1) Productivity 2) Money 3) Following the "script" in life (career, marriage, house, etc.) 4) Exercising & weight 5) Screen time 6) Socializing 7) Sex

@sunriseoath @Thomasdelvasto_ "It is hard to feel too ashamed if we think of ourselves less." This idea is too underrated.

@Thomasdelvasto_ Living a life that one needs not be ashamed of is a huge benefit of living according to moral guidelines. It also helps to have oneself correctly proportioned in value relative to God and church. It is hard to feel too ashamed if we think of ourselves less.

I might experiment with increasing my level of shame and self coercion been working on lowering it for years, so now I still get anxious and depressed but have a much harder time getting productive shit done

@PaulaSeeksTruth Beautifully said. Lately, I have been thinking a lot about how the capacity for detachment to ego and the desire to impose could be the values from which we can make better protocols that enable it for us to understand one another better.

I need the world to keep talking to me, to keep revealing itself here. we must keep crashing into each other, making our worldviews collide, hoping that some common understanding and some truth can arise out of it. we can help each other dig deeper. I learn anyway.

Pretty sure I just encountered a cognitohazard bc of YouTube recommendations. Watching the first few seconds is enough to be annoying. Not even sure I should be tweeting this bc I dont want to be reminded but yeah.

But I mean I guess the way I see it is nothing is fruitless really But I still cannot seem to integrate those two things together for whatever reason Perhaps the monkey brain inside me aches for certainty But also… idk…

I wish I had a decent proxy / feedback system for what I’m doing ‘cause I dread exerting so much effort into a pursuit only for it to end up fruitless
