The interesting thing re: Célio vs NE is that he actually didn’t generate much offense himself. He took 2 shots, both were blocked, he was 0/5 on crosses, only won 2/7 duels and not much in the way of defensive/pressing success in creating turnovers. Singularly, it was a meh game for him at best. But what he enabled holistically in the @stlCITYsc attacking half, allowing Wallem to invert, widening the field in the attacking half and causing the Revs defense to spread out more than we’d been requiring w/Teuchert or even Sangbin in… that’s where Célio’s value was last night. It will be interesting to see what happens to Wallem if Teuchert returns to that role in 2 weeks or if Célio is able to keep hold for now in training and we see a similar look vs NYCFC on April 4. #AllForCITY

Joyner’s the bigger question to me. I get the Célio question in the sense that he’s a player who’s shown flashes of excitement in the past but Célio’s also 26, on his 5th head coach while w/CITY and hasn’t broken through to a full time starting role yet. Call it lacking defense, connecting with others.. whatever it is, he’s not been rated overly well by any of the 5 HCs we’ve had. That says something. #AllForCITY

Carolyn Kindle and Wray specifically spoke about not being afraid to make a big investment, player-wise, into the team. But it has to be the right player and the right time. I think after the World Cup break is over there’s gonna be a lot of players in Europe looking to play in MLS. And I’m thinking that we will be a team to invest in a goalscorer if needed. Whether that be a certain American from STL who’s move to Toronto has come to a halt, or other options. #AllForCITY

@attackofthezig1 Soccer teams don’t stick to their colors for kits. Look at all the different color kits teams across the world use. Liverpool has had both green and purple kits and they are most certainly associated with red.

@ScottClemenson @MattBakerSTL @slso As a secondary kit This branding as the "the tina turner" is horrible especially with the patch in the bottom corner with her face on it and then her signature across the back. 3/10 As a third kit dont like the Tina patch and signature on it 6.5/10 Theme jersey love it 9.25/10

Here it is St. Louis, our new secondary kit for the next two seasons, simply called: The Tina Turner Kit. It’s bold, it’s different & it has the local connection that extends to a unique partnership with @slso. Tina wasn’t born here, but she was discovered here, has a lot of history here and she’s iconic. New jerseys come out every year and this is the first @stlCITYsc kit that’s dove into the unique in this way. I’m excited to see it in person and on the field. #AllForCITY
