@bachmakov Since it is a dogma it would be contained in the deposit of faith. Since deposit of faith was finished at the death of the last Apostle John, the date would definitely be around ~100AD

@bachmakov The Roman Pontiff is a person and a seat or office, not a location. Submission to the See of Peter has always been required by all the faithful. Even Saint Irenaeus taught that all must hold the faith of the Roman Church, the disciple of Polycarp, the disciple of Saint John.

If submission to Rome is necessary for salvation, the Apostles had no chance — they couldn’t submit to something that didn’t exist yet.
Same for the faithful of Antioch, Jerusalem, Constantinople & Alexandria. Thousands of Christians saints died before 1302.

@AngloVarangian Ecumenism does not change dogma. There is no salvation nor remission of sins outside of the Catholic Church and submission to the Roman Pontiff is necessary for salvation.

@RodKahx Don’t worry about them. America is undergoing major demographic changes. In 50 years it will resemble another Latin American country — large but “right-sized,” with good food and a healthier relationship with the world around it.
