I am becoming increasingly irked by selective outrage. People on here who are furious about Minnesota but who never mention Gaza. People seething over Trump & Greenland and Ukraine who have said nothing about the destruction by Israel of the West Bank. Who never mention Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Yeman-almost as if brown people don't matter...

Ban immigration because some might commit crime! Ban transgender men in female toilets because some might commit crime! Get rid of welfare because some commit fraud! Ban X because a small number of users create CP. WHAT NO?! FREEDOM OF SPEECH. MUSK HELP. PLEASE.

@Strickomaster And it’s true. And you are right. I’m not attacking you. Sorry if I come across that way. But I work in an area with a culture of a lack of aspiration despite the culture we promote within the school. And I desperately want some ideas on how we change that. Or at least try.

@Strickomaster 100%. That’s been my work for 20+ years but we can’t just accept defeat so how do we affect those societal factors within our communities. How can we as schools drive that culture?

@Strickomaster I 100% agree with you. But that doesn’t mean culture doesn’t affect attendance. Can we separate a schools culture from its community or societal culture? And importantly (and pertinent to me) how can we as schools affect a negative community culture?

@Strickomaster And that is the culture of those schools communities. A culture of ambition and aspiration that’s missing from some other communities.
