The public spoke to their legislators, the public spoke to the advocates in our communities. There’s work to be done sure, but backing pro-Republican, pro-carceral bills ARE NOT what New Mexicans want. The only disappointment is how much the Gov ignored the public on this. #nmpol

Abhorrent that Nex Benedict was bullied to suicide, but more abhorrent is those who take it upon themselves to bully him in death. Assimilation is successful when Native people replicate harmful colonial oppressions onto our own youth like transphobia and the gender binary.
