Totalement fantasmatique. Les raisons de ces choix sont on ne peut plus simples : ce sont les seules villes en France, en dehors de Paris, où on trouve assez d’hôtels de luxe pour loger toutes les délégations. Cherchez : il n’y en a pas d’autres.

Tout le monde va regarder ce qui se dit à Évian cette semaine. Moi, je regarde où ça se dit. Parce qu’on a oublié une chose : la France ne reçoit jamais le monde n’importe où. Elle choisit. Biarritz, Cannes, Évian. Toujours des lieux de villégiature, jamais des capitales. Et ce n’est pas un hasard, c’est une stratégie vieille de plus d’un siècle. L’idée est simple, presque cynique : sortir les puissants de leur terrain. Pas de palais présidentiel, pas de symbole de pouvoir adverse. Juste un lac, des montagnes, un grand hôtel. Un endroit où personne n’est chez soi, donc où tout le monde baisse un peu la garde. Évian connaît la manœuvre. En 1962, c’est ici qu’on met fin à la guerre d’Algérie. En 2003, Chirac y installe le G8 au moment le plus tendu de la crise irakienne. À chaque fois, la même méthode : déplacer la négociation là où le décor désarme. On appelle ça du soft power. C’est un mot récent pour une très vieille habitude française : croire que la beauté d’un lieu fait partie de l’argument. Que face aux Alpes, on signe ce qu’on n’aurait pas signé sous les ors d’un ministère. Naïf ? Peut-être. Mais voilà soixante ans que ça fonctionne. Et pendant que d’autres bunkerisent leurs sommets, la France, elle, continue de parier sur le paysage. Évian n’a jamais eu de pouvoir. Elle a mieux : elle a le cadre. Et le cadre, parfois, vaut un argument. Selon vous, est-ce que le lieu d’une négociation peut vraiment en changer l’issue ? Ou c’est une histoire qu’on aime se raconter ?

La Laure de Kyiv-Pechersk, l'un des hauts lieux de l'orthodoxie ukrainienne inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité de l'UNESCO, a été touchée cette nuit dans l'importante frappe de missiles et de drones russes qui a, de nouveau, pris Kyiv pour cible et fait des victimes civiles.
Tout comme la guerre d’agression que mène la Russie contre l’Ukraine depuis plus de 4 ans, rien ne justifie cette attaque contre notre patrimoine universel.
La France se tient prête à coopérer avec les autorités ukrainiennes en charge du patrimoine.
Cette attaque ne fait que renforcer notre détermination à tout faire, avec nos alliés et partenaires, pour travailler à un cessez-le-feu que la Russie refuse toujours obstinément, puis à la paix. Nous y œuvrerons au G7, à Evian.

According to "dosye shpiona", the 6 June strike on the Russian Navy’s 15th Arsenal in Bolshaya Izhora, Leningrad Oblast, resulted in the loss of approximately 5,000 tons of stored munitions.
The destroyed stockpile reportedly consisted primarily of artillery ammunition and engineering munitions stored in above-ground hangars, which detonated after being hit. The source also reports two arsenal personnel killed in the attack.

Reporting from the Financial Times on Xinjiang remains incredibly grim:
* In some areas, 90% of children are taken from parents to be educated in boarding schools where they aren't allowed to speak Uyghur
* Officials monitor who eats during Ramadan and report those who skip meals
* Basic items like prayer mats and religious text are considered illegal contraband
* Adult Uyghur women are pressured to marry Han Chinese men, and there are official goals to sterilize a certain % of them.
* Xinjiang has the largest prison capacity in the world relative to population
* Huge numbers of Uyghur prisoners are now being shipped across the country in forced labor schemes, as a way to dodge Xinjiang sanctions/boycotts
* The CCP shut down all 10 existing Uyghur-language publishers, none remain. They fed one university's book collection into a shredder.
There's a lot going on the world, but it's worth remembering that China is still actively engaged in cultural genocide. They're barely even hiding it, they openly talk about the need to 'correct' Uyghur culture and create 'ethnic unity'. They are openly destroying an entire culture as efficiently as they can, cutting children off from parents, restricting language, restricting religious practice, forcing sterilizations and intermarriage, imprisoning anyone who resists the tiniest amount and shipping them out to forced labor factories. That is what the CCP is.
