Demanding it is too much. I think it’s always ok to request things, but a request means you have to be able to accept no as answer. I must admit, I think I would struggle learning Japanese. Traditionally I’m better at reading and writing foreign languages than speaking and listening. I have a problem deciphering different accents.

@51Yukkoro, @kaeruZangyo, @daihuku2023. Hello Japanese friends. I would like your help. I met an elderly Japanese man who can no longer work because he broke his femur and nearly died from pneumonia. He commented on my burger post and asked how much it cost. I learned the price was enough to pay for three days of his food! I would like to buy him lunch sometime. Can you please tell me if that would be ok culturally? And if so, are there any apps that let people share money? What is the best way to help?

@PhilipSchonenb2 @chrisf_cpuarch Exactly, ddr routing requires you to define your differential clock, and then the bus lines must match the clock for high speed operation

If you want to suggest something, be my guest. Don't tell me what to do. This is my house. I have no problems with showing you the door if there is a problem.

@chrisf_cpuarch I no longer write C but the knowledge of threading I learnt in C has been super useful conceptually.

We have a sort of opposite problem. Our young engineers often struggle to get jobs right away because the companies have insane requirements for entry level jobs. It probably happens in other fields, but I am an engineer so I know this field best. Some of it is a problem with the graduates (lower attention span, engineering rigor going down), but a lot with companies who want the world but can’t find the candidate. Both sides need to improve.

@TSUPANMAN2828 @chrisf_cpuarch Digital design was one of my favorite classes in school. We designed a computer processor from the ground up and tested it in a simulator. Its brains were slightly dumber than a TI-85 calculator’s

I was in high school! I used to get in so much trouble, once the teacher was like "the next person that says a chuck norris joke is going to the office" and it went desd silent and I immediately quipped "you wouldn't send Chuck Norris to the office" and the whole class roared and I had to go to the office lololol

@BuzzPatterson I have a question. I expect you can’t answer or. However, do they ever transmit fake EAMs? Perhaps one that are valid but known to be disregarded? I ask because that’s where my mind would go if I were architecting that system.

@chrisf_cpuarch @jinusu Ooh good idea! I have a plan to start introducing stuff like this so I'll start after I get some sleep. They already know about Hooters and Chuck Norris jokes, first thing I check lol

@PhilipSchonenb2 @blind_via It’s not set in stone. I’d probably be targeting a 130 nm process for the ASIC. Very little of my CPU architecture work has been outside of the chip, so a slow speed gives me a chance at making less mistakes. This personal project would be a reintroduction to VLSI for me.

@51Yukkoro @daihuku2023 @kaeruZangyo It requires strong leaders who will say no even if there are social consequences. Not many people can do that. God bless the ones who do (did this sentence translate ok?).
