Some days I feel like the campaign trail is cold and slow. I was just stopped by a Santa Monica Police Officer who recognized me and my support of them. I'm now running full throttle into next year. 💪💪

-best climate on earth, hands down -landscape is visually stunning in the right places -hiking and outdoor scene great -amazing street food scene and solid restaurants -most powerful creative super center on earth -major business hub -tons of access to healthy food options yes i am sure all your points are valid too, but to just disregard the rationale for why it’s a dope city is disingenuous.

Los Angeles is objectively a bad city. This isn’t a political post either. I grew up here. I still live here. But here are some thoughts: 1) Traffic: Worst in the nation. The average driver loses ~89 hours/year in congestion. It dictates your entire schedule. 2) Transit: Non existent for 90% of the city. A 20 min drive is 90 mins by bus. Idc what anybody says… you need a car here. 3) Housing: Median home is ~$950k. You pay luxury prices for garbage, no AC, and a 1970s kitchen. 4) LAX: A global embarrassment. Pathetic. 5) Walkability: Score of 67. Essentially 0 walkability 6) Cleanliness: I dont know the stats but I travel very often and LA remains one of dirtiest cities IMO. Trash, illegal dumping, and smog are everywhere. 7) Layout: It’s hardly a city; it’s 30 disconnected suburbs duct taped together. No center. No heartbeat. “Downtown” LA is still a war zone. 8) Nightlife: 2 AM last call kills the vibe. Unless you’re in K-Town or Silverlake (possibly Weho), nightlife is trash 9) Safety: Even if stats say violent crime is down, the lawlessness is up. Smash and grabs and car break ins are normalized. 10) People: Flaky and transactional. Entitled and rude. We pay the highest taxes in the country to live in a parking lot that’s on the beach. And before you say "just move away then,” all my family lives here. Being close to them is way more important to me than anything else. I’m staying but just venting about the reality of living here. What else did I miss?
