Assessing play and leisure - we need to look at the capacity, approach and motivation to play, as well as what players do and the environment!

...EHCPs and not as much focus on play/leisure, children with SEMH may have had less exposure to play/leisure, screen time, use of play using technical devices and how this is managed, coaching parents and how they can facilitate play with their children!

Feedback from breakout groups surrounding reflection on play and leisure in practice - more focus on self-care/productivity from statutory services, difficulty managing parental control/expectations on play/leisure, looking at play for children with Autism/limited communication..

Environment access, social attitudes and professional/parental practices can impact on access to play and leisure for CYP with additional needs...

The impacts of engaging in leisure activities... restoration, reflection, construction, protection and connection!
