@Berlinnaeus Rising fuel prices are a concern for all Transport companies, To be fair customers have accepted a fuel surcharge on shipments, it's not ideal but necessary in order to protect the transport service in this country. Feel for the farmers, who can they surcharge?

According to maps most of the motorways into Dublin have heavy traffic or blocked due to the fuel protest. This protest is bigger than anyone expected.

It looks like a deal was done, it is now up to the farmers. The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has said it will not be participating in a planned fuel protest, set to take place on Tuesday. In a statement issued at lunchtime on Monday the IRHA said: “We fully understand, empathise with, and share the frustration felt across the sector. Hauliers and transport operators continue to face significant challenges due to increased fuel prices and rising operating costs.” “However, the IRHA wishes to make it clear that, at this point in time, we are not involved in the organisation of this protest and will not be participating.” “Our focus remains on constructive engagement with the Department of Transport to deliver supports for our members.” “We had a very engaging meeting with Minister O’Brien last Friday. We will be meeting him again shortly, along with officials from the Department. We are keeping the lines of communication open and working on delivering further supports for our members to mitigate against surging fuel prices.” “The Minister has committed to looking at potential options that may need to be deployed. The IRHA is actively involved in ongoing discussions with Government to secure practical, sustainable supports for the haulage sector. We believe dialogue — not disruption — is the most effective way to deliver real solutions for our members and the wider industry at this point in time.” “We will continue to represent the interests of our members and to work towards further supports that address cost pressures while maintaining the smooth operation of essential supply chains.”

Tuesday morning April 7th Fuel Protest underway ….. Tullamore bypass in county Offaly….after the failure of Government to enter into dialogue with them the hauliers and contractors have the right to stage a peaceful protest and are exercising that right all over the country today

We are starting to test ads in ChatGPT free and Go (new $8/month option) tiers. Here are our principles. Most importantly, we will not accept money to influence the answer ChatGPT gives you, and we keep your conversations private from advertisers. It is clear to us that a lot of people want to use a lot of AI and don't want to pay, so we are are hopeful a business model like this can work. (An example of ads I like are on Instagram, where I've found stuff I like that I otherwise never would have. We will try to make ads ever more useful to users.)
