Some guy tipped me ten dollars in quarters, and I’m still trying to figure out what kind of person thinks that’s acceptable. I just finished a DoorDash order, and he casually mentions he forgot to tip in the app—which, fine, not ideal, whatever. Then he dramatically pulls out a literal roll of quarters like he’s handing me the crown jewels.
He looks me dead in the eye and says,
“Sorry man, I didn’t tip on the app, this is all I’ve got.”
Yeah, thanks. I love holding a handful of coins like it’s 1998. I don’t use change. I’m not a parking meter. I’m not walking around with rolls of quarters or dumping them into a Coinstar just to get the money I already earned. I took it because arguing over coins isn’t how I planned to spend my day, but that doesn’t make it okay.
Tipping in quarters is peak absurdity. Tip in the app, tip in bills, tip digitally—literally anything that doesn’t involve me schlepping around loose metal. Acting like this is normal? Pure comedy. And yes, no one should ever think a pocketful of coins counts as a tip.

I rarely eat out.
Maybe once a month. Went yesterday to a restaurant (Italian, Mediterranean) in West Seattle for Mother’s Day last night.
Total for 5 of us ( we don’t drink alcohol) with one salad, humus and 3 vegetarian pastas was $97
The check said 3.5% surcharge for credit card. Then 17% service fee, mandatory.
Then tips were 20% 22% and 25% optional.
I asked if I could pay in cash.
No. They don’t take cash. Then how can I avoid the credit card fee I asked.
You can’t.
So I asked why the service charge.
It pays for the employees they said.
Then why the tip I asked.
It pays for front office staff
I don’t get it.

Kinda respect what just happened
My internet bill tripled this month because some 5 year promo ended
I called asking if they could bring it back, they said no
So I hit them with the “alright then I’ll just cancel”
Lady immediately goes “sounds good, let’s get that cancelled for you right now”
Completely called my bluff, and I went into pussy mode.
folded instantly and will now be staying a Spectrum customer

.@lukadoncic, There Is Only One Word That I Can Possibly Say, And That’s DISAPPOINTED. 46 Million Dollars, And You Can’t Play. OMG, I Would Jump Off The Empire State Building With A Parachute For 46 Million Dollars A Year, And I Don’t Even Know How To Pull The Cord To Open It- But I Would Take My Chances.

Ugh. I hate when someone pisses me off. My son and his friends are hanging out and making a fire tonight. 2 of the kids I just don’t like. They give me bad vibes. It was 830 and they were being pretty loud. So I said keep it down I do have neighbors. One kids said it’s only 830. I said I don’t give a fuck what time it is. Then he says he’ll take it down from a 10 to a 9. That’s when I lost and said a few choice words. If I ever found out one of my kids talked to another parent like that I’d slap them into next week.

I’m 60, and my son is 33. He still lives in my house, sleeping in the same room he grew up in and using the same closet I built for him when he was ten. He eats the food I prepare for him every day. He doesn’t work, doesn’t study, and doesn’t look for anything. He wakes up late, turns on the television or computer, and that’s how his day passes. If I don’t serve him breakfast, he skips it. If I don’t wash his clothes, he leaves them piled on a chair until he has nothing clean left to wear.
But it wasn’t always this obvious. It started years ago, little by little, and I allowed it all to happen.
When he was a child, I didn’t let him do anything on his own. I tied his shoes until he was twelve because he said it took too long. I did his homework for him “so he wouldn’t get stressed.” If there was a problem with a teacher at school, I went to speak on his behalf. If he argued with a friend, I stepped in. I always told myself, “He’ll have time to suffer when he’s an adult.” I never let him experience discomfort.
