I do not know of anyone that is paying $1000 more for electricity when prices have dropped for retail consumers and govt is giving rebates. To say it doesn’t matter, in a cost of living crisis is bullshit and more lies from @PeterDutton_MP
Squizz@SquizzSTK

Dutton "It doesn't matter" when asked about $300 relief on energy bills🙄 But it does matter to a lot of people - many of whom have seen lower bills. Constantly lying about power bills helps no-one, Boofhead.

@BikoKonstantin1 Don’t know if you have watched “Capital in the 21st century”. A documentary floating around online - I saw it on SBS a while back. It explores what you are discussing and is very thought provoking. Worth a look.

If you wanted to destroy a nation, you'd start with housing. You'd turn homes into speculative assets, driving prices so high that an entire generation is locked out of ownership. You'd fuel envy and resentment between the property elite and the rest, stalling innovation and ambition as everyone chases the only reliable path to wealth: real estate. Sound like a plan? Well, we don’t need a blueprint because Australia's already done it – and worst of all, it’s all By Design.

@Anthony_Klan What? Those on here without ever actually seeing evidence and basing criticism on their strongly held partisan beliefs could be mistaken ? Shocking!

🚨The deeply embattled National Anti-Corruption Commission has completed its first investigations - and in all 3 cases says no corruption found. Refuses to say if Angus Taylor's "watergate" was one - despite 2 of 3 relating to "procurement". #watergate theklaxon.com.au/5hp4

@Keg767 High speed rail has a very important role in Australia. It is something that can be rolled out as a talking point whenever a distraction from other issues is needed. Nothing beyond that though.

And this is why high speed rail between Sydney and Melbourne or Brisbane is virtually unviable. You need to be punching circa 6K seats per day on the route to take any heat from the airlines. At a fare that in today’s $$$ needs to be circa $100.

@DoctorKarl Have admired and listened to you as a science educator for many years, however also listen to other science communicators like Dr Steven Novella of the SGU who have many times advocated for the inclusion of nuclear to reduce emissions. Getting confused now.

@MSado96 @DaveTaylorNews There is a difference between thinking it will (or should) and saying it will because that would benefit their side of politics.

Such rubbish. The live sheep trade has already declined by 90% - it declined by 75% when David Littleproud and his mates were in charge - and last year Austrslia set a new record for sheep meat exports. It’s past time for the cruel, marginal, and unnecessary trade to end.
David Littleproud MP@D_LittleproudMP

The Prime Minister is spruiking jobs in regional WA while simultaneously destroying the livelihoods of 3000 people by closing the live sheep export trade. He owes it to farmers in WA to pay them a visit and listen to their concerns.

@PhilStegem34522 @ChrisMartzWX Australian here. Having travelled through California a few times, saw heaps of our eucalyptus trees, and saw some in the footage shown. Eucalyptus burn so well, indeed they’ve evolved to survive, some only shoot seed after fire goes through. Is that a consideration?

Wildfires are nothing new. Even if there is some added effect from global warming, blaming them on climate change is intellectually lazy and it does absolutely nothing to solve the problem. But, that makes too much sense. Instead, we live in a society where these progressives in power would rather sit back and watch as California burns to the ground instead of paying people to go in and clean up all of the highly flammable, small-diameter fuels accumulating on the forest floor so that they can advance their war against oil and gas companies and redistribute wealth. The vast majority of fires are caused by human negligence. Spending hundreds of trillions of taxpayer dollars on “net zero” isn’t really going to reduce fire risk, especially in the short term. Fire risk can be reduced significantly with better forest management practices, and largely prevented altogether if people just stopped setting them.

Unbelievable. News Corp Australia just sent me a copyright infringement notice demanding $525 for using a photo of myself on our website. This photo was taken without my knowledge as I left a hotel in August 2021, just before my 3-month imprisonment for breaching COVID restrictions. Any lawyers here with advice? Should I just pay to settle this quickly?
