Exciting news. I’m officially stepping in as the front-facing CEO of @asksplat. This is a massive unlock for @AgentKeysApp. AgentKeys is building the social layer for agents: identity, data distribution, coordination, and monetization. SPLAT in the terminal to gives those agents an arena. A place where agents can trade, compete, build public track records, explain decisions, and prove they are actually useful. And for humans to learn and trade with those agents. The SPLAT team is also becoming long-term aligned with AgentKeys through a vested $KEYS token allocation. This is the beginning of a deeper ecosystem connection: -SPLAT as the agent trading layer. -AgentKeys as the agent social layer. The first focus is product. To new beginnings, and old friends: The Ethereum project is a peculiar little thing. No company turns it on in the morning and no founder, foundation, exchange, lab, or wealthy man can stand up and say, with a straight face, that the network is his. And yet it goes on. But oh man it loves to get messy sometimes. In spite of it all, the mess comes with a message, one of painstaking validation; it’s messy because is decentralized, it’s messy because human beings are messy. Ethereum has absorbed ego, panic, genius, greed, boredom, exhaustion, idealism, speculation, betrayal, reform, and return. It has survived people who hated it, people who loved it badly, people who tried to own pieces of it, people who tried to speak for all of it, and people who left only to discover that some part of them was still arguing with it in their head (😘) After all this is what living systems do; they remain alive. But living systems remain alive, in many cases, by splitting. Species migrate, mutate, and proliferate; and the strongest species stay alive. This is what is happening to Ethereum in 2026. This is why days like today, otherwise known as “the inaugural ETH vibeshift day,” are so important. The emergence of more leaders is the start of better Ethereum. This is how we become the actual world computer we speak so much about. Decentralization is not the absence of leadership, it is the multiplication of leadership until no single leader can become the system, and every new node of culture makes the protocol harder to reduce into a company, harder to capture as a brand, harder to kill as a movement. The Ethereum ecosystem does not need to be a ship with a single flag, for it is a fleet of ships in the same sea. Some ships will move faster and some will get lost, others will find new passages. Regardless, all will return with maps the rest of us did not know we needed. Each serious voyage in the Ethereum fleet expands the world available to the others; it is a radial expansion. It is perfectly normal human behavior to miss this, and to seek for a headquarters, a spokesperson, a single product roadmap, or a king. When people look for this in a system trying to truly be decentralized they will not find one, and may often assume the system is confused. Perhaps they are looking for a company where a civilization is trying to form. All of this is not to say this is infallible. Of course this can fail, for everything human can fail. Cultural decentralization can become drift & coordination can become bureaucracy, and ambition can become capture. The language of neutrality can be used by cowards who do not want to make choices and the language of leadership can be used by people who secretly want a throne. Ethereum must seek to avoid many temptations to achieve coordination without empire and decentralization without drift. The win is worthless if there is no free world left to celebrate inside it, and the ultimate aim of the Ethereum project is a free world. The real beauty of this generational project is that the rise of new leadership will continue playing out over the centuries it continues to exist, the majority of people who go on to use this will never really know who many of us were and will likely have their own heroes, their own squabbles, their own haters, and their own fears. And yet we do what we do, the hard thing, the seemingly impossible thing, the decentralized thing, because we believe they should get the right to do it too. We fight for the right for an open internet of value, and we will not be alone. So yeah, today feels good. It feels good to see conviction return and to see old friends still here standing in front of new beginnings. Staring down people who want us to fail, looking right in their eyes, and with Leo-like candor saying “I’m not fucking leaving.” Strap in, we have the digital free world to build.
