This season will feature a TON of just trying stuff. Rookie HC + just trying to figure out who you can move forward with alongside coop. I think minutes and even starting spots could be up for grabs through Feb. Would not be shocked to see 13-14 guys get a real shot at minutes

the offseason & season is about finding out how to build around cooper and finding the right pieces moving forward. mavs continue to do that via draft & swapping out players on roster. and they aren’t done yet.

The three second-round picks OKC is receiving in exchange for Lu Dort, per source: 2027 Chicago via Dallas, 2031 most favorable from Atlanta, plus a 2032 most favorable from Atlanta.

@yardestyle @JDCowboys2 @Frank_5599 I would say that has more to do with teams not wanting to get involved in RFAs and tie up their cap space for potentially 48 hours rather than Cisse’s talent. But the overall point is that Gafford’s not some world beater that they have to come off of and Cisse is a capable player

When you consider that he was a FA (restricted) and could only secure a mostly non guaranteed vet minimum contract weeks after FA started, it should tell you how professional GM/scouts see him. He signed that too so he knows where he stands.

Dallas matching the Knicks for Cisse is pure comedy. Traded a 1st for Gafford and gave him $54M, drafted Morez at #9, traded for 7ft Aldama. Cisse is a 4th-string center on this roster. Now they have to cut a guaranteed deal just to let him ride the bench. Make it make sense. 😂

@JDCowboys2 @Frank_5599 I get that but he is still the better player and now that they forced themself into needing to move a contract and him specifically to clear a role for Cisse, they won’t get good value for trading Gafford.

This tells me they no longer have a specific price they’re demanding. They’ll take whatever the best offer they get within their set timeframe is and that’ll be it. My expectation is maybe 2-3 2nd round picks and a small salary they can cut
