أبلغ عدداً من النواب أن لبنان الرسمي سلّم الميكانيزم رقم لوحة السيارة العسكرية للعميد وسام صبرا قبل توجهه الى الجنوب.
وعليه فإن اسـرائيل كانت تعرف جيداً السيارة وتعرف ان دخولها الى الجنوب منسّق ضمن الآلية المتفق عليها مع الدولة اللبنانية.
ومع ذلك تم إستهـداف السيارة ما أدى الى ارتقاء العميد ورفاقه.
