@Lush_Beauty1 According to the attachment theory everyone has an attachment style. There are studies that show that dark triad personalities seem to be enthusiastic users of dating apps. And these individuals bring the most harm.

@evgvod There is some truth that attachment styles show up more on apps, but they don’t attract only those people, they mostly just amplify existing behavior.

Dating as an adult is weird I miss when two people liked each other and just went for it…. They claimed each other first, then figured it out from there Now everybody just wants to play it cool, keep their options open, and keep their distance Maybe I’m autistic or something, but how do we get close if you’re purposely trying not to??

@signulll AI has a potential in a classical dating market if it is used as an advanced filtering mechanism. Haven't seen it in major apps.

apparently one of the highest revenue yc companies is a match making app doing like a ~$1m a month in revenue & it’s not a dating app. it uses ai to match women for friendship with other women due to loneliness which is very fascinating because bumble needed to lean into this hardcore but obviously failed in all facets of business for the past like ~6 years. kinda ironic since the zeitgeist narrative from the mainstream is always about men’s loneliness.

Dating these days is confusing. You’re either someone’s backup, suddenly ghosted, used as a rebound by someone who’s not really over their past, or stuck in a situationship that's allergic to commitment. Ugggh! Pick your struggle.
