An Update on the Explode app: Thanks for everyone who tried out Explode 2 weeks ago. It was a piece of growth hacking art—showcasing the bleeding edge of iOS hacks with every pixel optimized for conversion. While it was just a side project, being able to send disappearing photos in iMessage is fundamentally useful and thousands are using it. So we just pushed two big updates today: 1/ All features & upgrades are now free forever. 2/ The servers are now optimized so the app will run indefinitely. @tomokisun This means you installed the app once already—and then deleted the app. This is a security measure to protect messages.

@mechanikalk @nikitabier You need to switch on "Block Screenshots" on the Account tab to enable the feature.

I just tried this and I was able to take screenshots on an apple device. I actually made an app that prevented this using a process I called visual encryption like 9 years ago. If you want the c library for transforming an image, I probably have it somewhere. Here is an example of an image, and what it looks like if you take a screenshot.

The CEO of Snapchat Evan Spiegel met with @nikitabier to acquire his last company and then kicked him off the Snap platform so Nikita decided to oneshot Snapchat by launching disappearing messages for iMessages. It’s like Snapchat without the Home Page of low-IQ brainrot content and ads. It’s the Snapchat killer everyone always wanted. It’s Snapchat circa 2013.
