@chrissyfarr The thing that frustrates me is people writing their learnings after the company failed. He could have shared this after he left..

You rarely see former employees speaking out about this stuff. When they do tho, it’s deeply useful and important for the industry. Shared learnings when things don’t work are far more important than this nonstop success parade.

@diviacaroline The last time I moved like this was when I was single. I had packers and movers do the work. And I crashed with a friend until things arrived. We are considering an international move soon - I would probably get an Airbnb, and I have no plans to move our stuff from here.

(We don’t have any confirmed moving plans but) Can someone please talk me through how cross country moves work?? Like what do people mostly do for the two weeks or whatever before their stuff comes.

@visakanv 2/2 And when you expand it to the world, on the state level and international, the geopolitics of every damn thing is so appalling. And we confuse power for reality. Now, Harry and I have to talk about all of this to our son 😂

@visakanv 1/2 Earlier in my career, working for big banks, I had this mental model of a maze (I'm on the lower level) and how the structures one level above can see and structures above can see a couple of levels down. As the complexity grows nothing makes sense and it becomes blurry.

when I was a teenager there was a bunch of stuff I really wanted to figure out about how the world works conventional wisdom/optics dictates that you’re supposed to claim that you don’t know how the world works, nobody does, but this is IMO a kind of dismissive polite fiction

@deenashakir @chrissyfarr One of the biggest advocates for healthcare was Hillary Clinton, I would like to see her talk. And also, Walter Greenleaf from Stanford about AR/VR and healthcare.

This question gets asked a lot, but - What was one change you made to your diet, supplement stack, or lifestyle which *noticeably* increased your energy and made you feel healthier?

Some of our engineers just told me they’d estimate 40% of the lines of code they produce are now written by the Github CoPilot AI

There is a difference between a wall and a boundary. If you put a wall around you; you protect yourself fiercely but also fail to enjoy the rest of the world.

@visakanv A lot of people don’t process their emotions well, it may look like forgiveness, but you may see passive aggression later. If you are the one done something wrong it is easier to ask for forgiveness than assuming.

reflecting on how most people are more forgetful and forgiving than I tend to be prepared for which is to say, my threat model assumes that people are unforgiving with long memories maybe some opportunity for relief here if I make the model a little more complex

@RaviHVJ I'm so sorry to read about your health. Our 4-year-old has a long COVID with a bunch of GI issues; it is heartbreaking to see him suffer from pain. We are working on fixing his gut biomes, it seems to help and I'm chasing researchers on a neuro-gut specialty to understand more.
